There is so much going on behind the scenes at the moment.

In case you are wondering why I’ve slowed down posting, a little, at the moment – it’s because I am working on so many different strands of research, ‘behind the scenes’ that it’s hard to know what to focus on next.

I am tripping over facts and information that is literally changing everything I thought I knew about ‘Real Jewish History’, especially from the last 400 years on.

Like:

Shabtai Tzvi was NOT some nobody-crazy-person from Salonika who managed to con the whole Jewish world into believing in him.

Really, he was a massive Rabbi – a highly-respected Torah scholar and halachic decisor from what is now part of Eastern Europe.

And we are still quoting a lot of his Torah and halachic ideas, using his real name and real persona.

Why and how was it so easy to hide all this, for the last 400 years?

The short answer is: because ‘Shabtai Tzvi’ was descended from a long line of famous Torah scholars, the family he belongs to is one of the most ‘connected’ (and honestly, disturbing…) families in the Jewish world, and pretty much every big rabbi you care to mention is related to him by birth of marriage, one way or another.

These are big claims, I know.

But I’m sitting here patiently piecing the information together to prove them – and it’s very tedious and time-consuming work.

Connected to this, is another vein of research related to ‘xtian Jews’ – crypto-Jews who were senior ‘rabbis’ in the Jewish community, but who had a whole other identity as converted xtians, court Jews and even archbishops, in the non-Jewish world.

Again, I keep tripping over so many examples of this, and always, they are connected to same small number of ‘elite’, apparently-Jewish-with-wonderful-yichus families.

The same families that have effectively stitched-up all the positions of power and influence in the Jewish world for at least the last 600 years, and probably, way before that too.

This is the line of research that actually led to the ‘breakthrough’ piece of information that unlocked the real identity of Shabtai Tzvi.

Then, there’s all the stuff with the eugenics agenda in the proto State of Israel, and how that is still affecting us today.

I will probably try to post something about that next, due to a plea from a reader for more information.

It’s not pinned down enough, really, to draw firm conclusions, but they asked me to put it out there anyway, so I will probably comply.

Because everything is a ‘message’ from God, and it seems to me that God wants whatever information I have already collated on this topic to be freely available now, while it’s still kinda half-baked.

Behind the scenes, I’m starting to feel that so much is moving and changing – in a good way.

The Rav is back out of prison, and in ‘house arrest’ in a better location.

As he moves out of incarceration, the rest of the world will follow him, starting with Israel.

Behind the scenes, something big is happening.

I can feel it.

And if you stop and think about it for a moment, I think maybe you’ll be able to pick that up, too.

Who hasn’t heard of the prestigious Mir Yeshiva?

That ‘top of the top’, that ‘best of the best’, when it comes to Torah learning and lomdus.

Over the years, I’ve kind of been circling around the Mir Yeshiva, especially on a Friday morning when I used to live in Musrara, and Beit Yisrael was where I did most of my shopping for Shabbat.

Also, one time my husband rented a small office directly opposite the Mir Yeshiva, and he sat in that dingy hole for a year basking in the ‘atmosphere’ radiating out of the Mir.

Man, we all hated that office so much.

My husband stuck up a poster advertising Rav Arush’s books for sale on his shutter facing the Mir yeshiva, and not occasionally, he got into some pretty big arguments with some of the people who saw it and decided to ‘put him straight’.

For my part, I had a really nice proofreader whose husband was a ‘Mir guy’, and who totally flipped out on me when I sent her the first draft of ‘One in a Generation’ to look at, which she ‘urgently’ discussed with her husband.

She was so clearly uncomfortable with any discussion of Moshiach and geula, and she was so clearly relating to me as some derango ‘mesichist’, and she was so upset with what she was reading – including the suggestion that the State of Israel was persecuting the ultra-orthodox world and targeting it for destruction – that she couldn’t complete the job and I had to find someone else.

Back then, I wondered: What are they teaching these guys at the Mir, that she is getting so very upset about any hint that the world might change radically, and that Moshiach might actually come? And that she can’t accept that the State of Israel is not as ‘benevolent’ as we’d all like to believe it is?

Another interesting point to note is that some of Rav Berland’s main persecutors within Meah Shearim are very respected teachers at the Mir yeshiva.

And I also used to find that kinda strange, too, that people who are meant to be ‘deep-dyed’ Breslovers were hanging out at the Mir, and apparently enjoying maximum respect and kudos.

Now, with all the water that has flown under the bridge in recent months, I’m understanding much more clearly some of the connections and links behind the scenes, and how ‘deep-dyed Breslovers’ can feel so very at home at the Mir.

Once you start to figure out how all this stuff, all these people, are really connected, it becomes so obvious.

So, now I’ve set out most of my personal biases, it’s time to take a closer look at that fabulous institution of lomduss, the Mir yeshiva.

Or more specifically, the people who founded it, and all the different people they are connected to.

Let’s start with the Mir’s own website, and it’s official history, so we can start to get a flavor of just how big an impact the Mir – and its students – have had on the orthodox Jewish world.

Proliferation of Scholars

It is rare to find a Jewish community the world over that has not been touched by alumni of Yeshivas Mir. The majority of Mir students spend their formative years in Jerusalem and then move back to their country of origin; many enter the Rabbinate and the field of education.

No-one can argue that Mir graduates are a huge force to be reckoned with within the orthodox, and ultra-orthodox rabbinic world.

So it’s really important that we understand who founded the Yeshiva, and what ‘hashgafah’ it’s truly seeding into all the orthodox communities – and orthodox schools – it’s alumni ‘enter’, back in ‘their country of origin’.

Trouble is, tracking down that information is not as easy as you might think  – not even on the easy stuff, like when the yeshiva was actually founded, and by who.

The Mir’s own website says the yeshiva was founded in 1817, but if you go to Wikipedia HERE, it has references to 1814 and 1815 as the founding years.

And if you go HERE, to the Otzar Forum, you’ll find a discussion in Hebrew that brings evidence that the yeshiva was actually founded some 50 years earlier, in 1767.

Although no-one really knows for sure, which is kinda strange.

The most prestigious yeshiva in the Jewish world, and no-one knows who really founded it, or when?

Let’s continue with the ‘official story’.

But even Wikipedia is confused about what that actually is.

If you go HERE, you’ll be told this:

The yeshiva was founded in the small Russian town of Mir, Belarus in 1814, 1815 or 1817 by Rabbi Shmuel Tiktinsky. After his death, his oldest son Rabbi Avraham Tiktinsky was appointed Rosh Yeshiva. After a number of years, Rabbi Avraham died and his younger brother Rabbi Chaim Leib Tiktinsky succeeded him. Rabbi Chaim Leib would remain as Rosh Yeshiva for many decades. He was succeeded by his son, Rabbi Avrohom Tiktinsky, who brought Rabbi Eliyahu Boruch Kamai into the yeshiva.

In 1903, Rabbi Kamai’s daughter married Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel (Reb Leizer Yudel), son of Rabbi Nosson Tzvi Finkel (the Alter of Slabodka), who in time became the Rosh Yeshiva of the Mir. The yeshiva remained in that location until 1914.

And if you go HERE, you’ll be told this:

The Mirrer Yeshiva was founded in 1815, 12 years after the founding of the Volozhin Yeshiva, by one of the prominent residents of a small town called Mir…, Rabbi Shmuel Tiktinsky.

After Rav Shmuel’s death, his youngest son, Rabbi Chaim Leib Tiktinsky, was appointed rosh yeshiva. He was succeeded by his son, Rav Avrohom, who brought Rabbi Eliyahu Boruch Kamai into the yeshiva. During Rabbi Kamai’s tenure the direction of the yeshiva wavered between those who wished to introduce the study of musar and those who were against it.

In 1903, Rabbi Kamai’s daughter Malka married Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel, son of the legendary Rabbi Nosson Tzvi Finkel, the Elder of Slabodka, who joined the yeshiva faculty in late 1906. Under his influence, the yeshiva joined the musar movement definitively and Rabbi Zalman Dolinski of Radin was appointed as its first mashgiach.

Hmmm.

Let’s see if we can get a bit more clarity about Mir’s (apparent…) founder, R’ Shmuel Tiktinsky.

His Wikipedia entry tells us that:

Shmuel Tiktinsky was “a merchant of considerable means and a talmudic scholar.” He used both of these to build and run the Mir.

Avrohom Tiktinsky [Shmuel Tiktinsky’s oldest son] was given “the whole burden of administration” by his father in 1823.

Weirdly, we’re told that both Shmuel and his son Avraham died in 1835 – but on separate occasions. At this point, Shmuel Tiktinsky’s second son, Chaim, is just 11.

In 1850, the now 26 year old Chaim Yehuda Leib Tiktinsky, known as Chaim Leib, “was appointed joint principal of the yeshiva.” Chaim Leib’s [sons] Shmuel (1876), and then Avrohom (1883), were his successors. The latter retired in 1907.

But over on the Jewish Encyclopaedia website HERE, we learn some different information about TIKTINSKI, ḤAYYIM JUDAH LÖB B. SAMUEL:

He was the second son of Samuel Tiktinski, founder of the yeshibah in Mir, who died in 1835, leaving his eleven-year-old son without any material means.

Despite his very unfavorable circumstances, young Tiktinski succeeded by diligent application in passing a rabbinical examination before he was twenty, at which age he officiated as substitute for Rabbi Elihu Shik in Deretschin when the latter went on a long journey.

In 1850 he was invited by Rabbi Moses Abraham ben David of Mir to deliver lectures before the local yeshibah. By his brilliant delivery and his rejection of the pilpul he attracted many scholars; and when, in 1867, Moses Abraham died, Tiktinski was entrusted with the entire control of the yeshibah.

So, let’s recap where we’ve got to so far.

A wealthy merchant and Torah scholar called Samuel Tiktinsky apparently starts the Mir Yeshiva in 1814, or 1815, or 1817 – no-one can really remember.

He dies in 1835, together with his eldest son Abraham, but on separate occasions, leaving his eleven year old son Chaim Tiktinsky destitute.

(Which is kinda weird, for a wealthy merchant who has enough money to run his own yeshiva.)

Meantime, the Mir Yeshiva is taken over by one ‘Rabbi Moses Abraham ben David’, and Chaim Tiktinsky only returns to the Mir yeshiva 14 years later, as a lecturer. When ‘Rabbi Moses Abraham ben David’ dies in 1867, R’ Chaim Tiktinsky takes over – and the rest is history.

This is the official story, and it just seems a little ‘off’ to me, I have to say.

Let’s start digging, to see what we find.

First stop is to try and track down more details of this wealthy ‘Shmuel Tiktinsky’ in the real world.

Over on geni, his entry is very sparse – no parents, no siblings, and you only find any real details for his son ‘R’ Chaim Tiktinsky’.

I plug in ‘Shmuel Tiktin’ – and get back a letter from a Rabbi Shmuel Tiktin – who is apparently this guy:

SHMUEL-FROYM TIKTIN (b. March 2, 1878)

            He was born in Jerusalem.  He studied in religious primary school, yeshiva, and on his own.  In 1891 he became secretary to the writer Zev Yaakov, and later he was an assistant to Eliezer Ben-Yehuda.  He was an active leader in Mizrachi.

He’s not the ‘Rabbi Shmuel Tiktin’ I’m after, because he’s around 100 years too late.

Then, I try to track down ‘Rabbi Shmuel Tiktin’ down in the Memorial book for the town of Tiktin (aka Tykocin).

Nothing, not a sausage.

How can the founder of the prestigious Mir yeshiva – Shmuel Tiktinsky – not even be listed as one of the ‘famous sons’ of Tiktin?

That’s what I start to wonder to myself. I mean, they have entries for ‘Natan the Mad’ and a whole bunch of other famous Tiktin Rabbis like HaRav Meir HaLevi Ish Horowitz (the Maharam Tiktin) and HaRav Shalom Rokeah (the “Ma’aseh Rokeah) – but not a peep about the founder of the Mir.

Hmm.

Next, I try a different angle, and try to track down the real identity of the ‘Rabbi Moses Abraham ben David’ who takes over the Mir when Shmuel Tiktinsky (and his son…) die in 1835.

Over on Yivo, I find this:

In the absence of an obvious successor, the rabbi of the Mir community, Yosef David Eisenstadt, took over the position of rosh yeshivah.

He in turn was succeeded by his son, Mosheh, but after the latter’s death in 1846 Ḥayim Tiktinski, a son of the founder, claimed the post of rosh yeshivah and took over its leadership. This step was challenged by the rabbi of Mir, who claimed that by then the post had become a prerogative of the community’s rabbi.

This claim was rejected in 1867 by a large committee of prominent rabbis in a precedent-setting decision that amounted to formal recognition of the separation between yeshivas and communities.

Well, the picture is already starting to come a bit more clearly into focus.

Here’s the geni profile for R’ Yosef David Eisenstadt. Apparently, this guy had some serious yichus. One of his great-grandfathers is R’ Aryeh Leib Pollack (Zak), the chief rabbi of Poland, while the other is Gaon R’ David Ginsberg of Prague.

I’ve been researching this period of Jewish history in Prague for months, already, and it’s the first I’ve heard of ‘R’ David Ginsberg’ – who again, springs from the head of Zeus.

Meanwhile, ‘R Yosef David Eisenstadt’s’ dad is listed as ‘Zvi Hirsh Pollack Zak’, and his aunt is Chashe Zak, who has a whole bunch of ‘Zakheim’ children.

When I was researching the ‘Vilna Gaon’s’ real family tree, HERE, I came across this guy:

Rabbi Joseph Zakheim – who caught my eye, because his descendants are still making headlines today, for all the wrong reasons.

This comes from Wikispooks, HERE:

Dov Zakheim...is an ordained rabbi who made it to a high position in both government and private business. He worked in the Pentagon between 1985 and 1987. From 1987-2001, Zakheim was CEO of SPC International, a high-technology firm that manufactures, inter alia, equipment to remotely control aircraft.

During 2000, he served as a foreign policy advisor to George W. Bush. He was hired as a Comptroller of the Pentagon in the spring of 2001.

On September 10, 2001 , Donald Rumsfeld, Defense Secretary, announced to a stupefied internal Pentagon audience that the Pentagon could not track $2.3 trillion dollars in its books.

This statement disappeared, as it were, into the memory hole the next day because of the deadly events, but continues to be widely quoted by Jew-bashers, who connect these missing funds to Zakheim.

I’m sure that’s just a CO-IN-CID-ENCE.

(Ahem….)

But in terms of figuring out what’s going on at the Mir, I’ve just hit a dead end.

I know that many of these rabbinic posts are ‘inherited’ from father to son, so I try to find out who was the Rabbi of Mir at this time.

Whaddya know?

It’s one ‘R’ Zvi Hirsch Eisenstadt‘, the grandson of the secret Sabbatean R’ Meir of Eisenstadt, the teacher of Jonathan Eibshutz, and also brother of ‘sabbatean prophet’ Mordechai Mokiach.

Here’s a little about how Mordechai Mokiach (Eisenstadt, brother of Rabbi Meir Eisenstadt) was connected to another member of the Eybshutz family, Ber Eybshutz (also known as Ber Perlhefter):

“In the late 1670s and early 1680s, Ber became deeply involved in the Sabbatean movement as a maggid in the circle of Abraham ben Michael Rovigo [the Eshel Avraham] (c. 1650–1713) in Modena.

He was instrumental in shaping the moderate wing of the movement after the death of Sabbetai Zevi. Though he initially pinned hopes on Mordecai of Eisenstadt (1650–1729) as a second redeeming figure, he later became disappointed and renounced his support…”

As for Mordechai Mokiach, his descendants changed their names to ‘Pick’ and ‘Berlin’, and quickly became leading figures back in the orthodox Jewish community again.

Things are starting to get interesting again!

R’ Zvi Hirsh Eisenstadt ABD Mir is married to one Finkel Kallir – his niece, via his sister Chava.

Finkel’s brother Rabbi Eleazar Kallir (1728-1801), the author of the Or Chadash -and another person whose been on my radar for quite a while.

This comes from the Jewish Virtual Library, HERE.

Rabbi Eleazar ben Eleazar Kallir’s father died before his birth, and he was therefore given his father’s name. In 1759, he was appointed rabbi of Zabludow, and from there proceeded to Berlin where he lectured in the college of the wealthy Moses b. Isaac Levy.

He was appointed rabbi of Rechnitz and head of its large yeshivah in 1768 and, in 1781, rabbi of Kolin near Prague. … Baruch Jeiteles states that “after the death of Yechezkel Landau, he was the sole remaining authority in the country.”

His first work, Or Ḥadash, on the Pentateuch, was an appendix to the Kotnot Or of his grandfather, Meir Eisenstadt, which he published under the title Me’orei Esh (Fuerth, 1766). …

His son Alexander Susskind was a well-known philanthropist.

So, at this point in the research, I tripped over something so mind-blowing, it took me out for the rest of the day.

I know, you want a clue, a hint.

Here it is:

Shabtai Tzvi was not some ‘nobody’ from Smyrna who somehow rose to become the potential ‘moshiach’ of nearly the whole Jewish world.

He was a very well known Rabbi and kabbalist.

He was an integral part of ‘the machine’ that’s been running the Jewish world for centuries already – because otherwise, he’d never have accomplished what he did, no matter how eloquent or ‘inspired’ he might have been.

There is so much smoke and mirrors flashing around all over the place, I have to pace myself to do this stuff, and try to pin it down properly.

I have prayed long and hard about whether to write this.

For well over a month, I have been consumed with research about what really happened to all the many ‘false messiah’ / Shabbatean prophets that popped up in the Jewish community, post-Shabtai Tzvi.

Conventional Jewish history pretty much airbrushed all of these people out of the picture, and made it seem as though only a few people really believed in Shabtai Tzvi; and that only a few more people really followed after Jacob Frank.

That’s not true.

Most of the Jewish world believed in Shabtai Tzvi, and even after he converted to Islam and then died, the movement continued. How? Because people like Nathan of Gaza were on hand to keep the wheel spinning, by explaining that the soul of Shabtai Tzvi would ‘reincarnate’ in each generation.

There was a grand battle between Shabtai Tzvi’s successors.

Every few years, there would be another ‘grand battle’ between all the false Shabbatean prophets / false messiahs, over who had really gotten the ‘soul’ of Shabtai Tzvi, or his latest acknowledged successor, after that guy passed away.

If you look carefully through the Jewish history books, you will understand that these battles have continued throughout the last 300 years – even into our days.

But let’s get back to the main meat of this post, which is going to be plenty long enough without any diversions.

Many of the secret followers of Shabtai Tzvi were rabbis, with the highest pedigree, Torah and yichus.

Many of these rabbis were kabbalists, and it seems to me that their foray into the kabbalah is what made them so susceptible to Shabbatean ‘Torah’.

This isn’t a new phenomena.

When Rabbi Akiva and his three colleagues visited the Pardes (an allusion to the deepest wellsprings of kabbalistic learning), only Rabbi Akiva emerged unscathed.

Ben Azzai died. Ben Zoma lost his mind. And Elisha ben Abuya (‘Acher’) became a heretic.

As it was then, so it was 250 years ago. So many of our leading Torah sages delved too deep in the kabbalah, with the result that many of them literally went crazy, or turned into heretics and atheists, or ‘died’ to the Jewish people by converting out of the faith.

Here’s what one contemporary wrote about the numbers of rabbis who ‘came out’ as Shabbateans, when Jacob Frank showed up:

“And [the followers of Shabtai Tzvi] had a big debate in the city of Lvov (Lemberg) with all the rabbis of Poland, with more than 200 apikorsim of Shabtai Tzvi….”

Most of these ‘apikorsim of Shabtai Tzvi’ were the leading rabbis of their day.

This is a fact that has been deliberately hidden and obscured from us, for reasons that will become obvious as we continue with this post.

As I started to really research what was going on, I came to understand that most of what we’ve been taught about what really happened in the Jewish community from around 1666 on is a deliberate lie.

Most of the Jewish leaders were actually believers in Shabtai Tzvi, and most of the ‘arguments’ between them were NOT based on people who were ‘pro’ Shabtai Tzvi of ‘anti’ Shabtai Tzvi.

Most of the arguments were around which version of Shabtai Tzvi’s path was the correct one to follow, and who was really the ‘true prophet’ carrying forward Shabtai Tzvi’s teachings.

There is something else to underline, before we continue, and that is that when Moshiach comes, he is going to rectify all of the issues of yichus that have piled up over the last few centuries. All the problems with forbidden relationships, all the mamzerut – Moshiach is going to fix it all.

This is a crucial things to internalise as we go forward, because many people will be truly shocked to understand that the yichus they may have been boasting about for the last 200 years is actually the very opposite of a good pedigree, Jewishly.

BUT IT CAN AND WILL ALL BE FIXED BY MOSHIACH, SO DON’T DESPAIR!!!

I am well aware that I am casting a very big stone in the pond with this information.

Two weeks ago, I decided to pull the plug on my research, and to let sleeping dogs lie. But since then, I’ve had  no peace, internally, and Hashem seems to be pushing me all the time in my hitbodedut to actually get this information out there, as gently as I can.

I guess it boils down to the fact that the world of truth can’t materialise until the world of lies really falls. And until we start to grasp just how many lies the modern Jewish community has been built on, that’s just not going to happen.

So with all those explanations out the way, let’s now get down to business.

Let’s start the process of uncovering the lies with the story of Abraham Broda, aka Avraham Rovigo, a leading secret Shabbatean of the more ‘moderate’ section of the cult.

(If you want to refresh your memory about what we’ve already covered here on the blog about the false prophets of Shabtai Tzvi, go back and re-read the blog posts I’m placing at the end of this post.)

Here is the starting point: all of the Shabbatean rabbis and prophets had at least one, if not more, ‘alter egos’.

So it was that they could be pious ‘Avraham Broda’ in one place, one country, and also be a Shabbatian prophet called ‘Avraham Rovigo’ in another context and country.

I have found this occurring again and again, that well known Jewish rabbis and ‘tzaddikim’ are called by one name in the Jewish history books, but went by many other names in the non-Jewish world, and also in different countries.

Some more points to note, before we really dive in, is that surnames only became mandatory within the Jewish community of Eastern Europe / Russia 200 years ago. So it was really easy to chop and change identities at will.

Also, the place names also changed, depending on which country was conquering the population at any given time. So, you can have ‘Lvov’ and ‘Lemberg’ referring to the same city, for example.

And lastly, be aware that many of these people moved around a LOT – and could often be away for years ‘on business’ in other countries, while apparently continuing as the official ‘rav’ of their communities back home.

OK, enough setting the scene. Let’s turn to some details now, about Avraham Broda / Avraham Rovigo.

In the official history of R’ Abraham Broda (that you can read for yourself HERE, in Hebrew), he’s described as the main rabbinic leader of the diaspora.

Here’s some of the details laid out in that ‘official history’:

  • Abraham Broda is related to the Maharal of Prague. He lives between 1650-1717, and is the son of ‘Shaul’ of Bumsla. His father is concerned about his son being pulled towards the teachings of Shabtai Tzvi, so he sends him to learn in Cracow, with Rabbi Yitzhak Harif.
  • He first becomes the Rav of Lichtenstadt; then he moves to Rodnitz (where he gives his haskamah to Meir Eisenstadt’s book ‘Panim Meirot’. Recall that Meir Eisenstadt is a) the brother of another Shabbatian false messiah called ‘Mordechai Mokiah’, and b) the supporter of another false messiah called Yehudah Leib ben Ya‘akov Holleschau of Prossnitz.)
  • From Rodnitz, Avraham Broda becomes a rabbi in Prague. In each place he goes, he opens up big yeshivas that attract thousands of students.

  • Avraham Broda’s students include:

    • Jonathan Eybshutz
    • Yosef Steinhardt
    • Yona Lansdorfer
    • Netanel Weil / Wehle

Let’s take a look at what happened to some of these students of Abraham Broda, as Rebbe Nachman teaches that like a seal imprinting in wax, you can tell if a leader is really ‘good’ or ‘bad’ by looking at his students.

Jonathan Eybshutz we already know is (rightly…) suspected of being a Shabbatean.

His son, Wolf, comes out publically as another Shabbatean ‘false messiah’ even in his father’s lifetime.

I’m also currently chasing down another line of research that suggests the Moses Dobrushka, Jacob Frank’s first cousin once removed and a notorious ‘antinomian Shabbatean’ was a grandson of Jonatan Eybshutz.

Then there’s the fact that Jonatan Eybshutz brazenly spelled out the name ‘Shabtai Tsvi’ on his wife Elka’s gravestone.

And if you read Heinrich Graetz ‘History of the Jews‘, you’ll learn a lot more details besides, that suggest R Yonatan was indeed a Sabbatian, and also a ‘false prophet’ himself.

Next up, we have R’ Yosef Steinhardt.

‘Steinhardt’ is a made-up name, and with a little bit of digging, we discover that ‘Yosef Steinhardt’, author of Koach Shor, appears to be Isaac Shor.

The Shor family was one of the most well-known in Galicia, and intermarried with many of the biggest rabbinical dynasties.

Sadly, they were also hardcore secret Shabbatians, and when Jacob Frank came along, the family ‘came out’ publically.

“ELISHA SCHOR, the first known of the ramified Wolowski family, was a descendant of Zalman Naphtali Schor, rabbi of *Lublin. For many years Elisha Schor held the position of Maggid in the community of *Rogatin….

The children of Elisha Schor, Solomon, Nathan, Lipman, Hayyah, and their families adhered to the Frankist sect, until their conversion to Christianity in 1759, when they changed their name to Wolowski (Pol. wol = Heb. shor). They held various positions in the court of Jacob Frank in Poland and in Offenbach.”

The Shor family got ‘airbrushed’ out of Jewish history now, so it’s hard tracking them all down. Suffice to say, that while some Schors openly became Frankists and then converted to Catholicism, other members of the family continued to stay within the Jewish community – and many of them continued to be ‘secret Shabbateans’.

So, Joseph Steinhardt / Isaac Shor marries a woman called Kreindall.

Kreindall is the daughter of Yehuda Leib Berlin, who happens to be the son of Mordechai Mokiah, brother of R’ Meir of Eisenstadt and another false Shabbatean ‘messiah’.

I can’t stress how important it is to understand that these ‘secret’ followers of Shabtai Tzvi tried very hard to just marry each other, across many generations.

Once you get that, it gets way easier to start tracking them all down. Let’s continue.

R’ Yona Lansdorfer – author of the ‘Me’il Tzedaka’ – dies young, and is officially described as someone who ‘fought against Sabbatians’.

Again, this is misleading. He fought against a different branch of Sabbatian thinking, but if you take a look at what happened to his descendants, you can see that his own Shabbatean streak came out very clearly later on.

Here is Yona Lansdorfer’s page on geni.com – backed up with supporting documents (very important, because there are so many ‘faked’ geni pages around Sabbatians and their descendants.)

Yona’s son is Mendel Lansdorfer.

Mendel’s daughter, Slava Malka, marries one Hersch Aaron Beer Wehle.

Their son is Jonas (Yonah) Beer Wehle.

Here’s what YIVO has to say about him, and his descendants:

“According to the testimony of Moses Porges, Yonah Beer Wehle was a leader of the Sabbatians in Prague.

On several occasions, he visited the Frankist court in Offenbach and was the main financial supporter of Ewa Frank. His sons Avraham and Akiva spent a period of time at the Offenbach court and reportedly recorded Ewa’s visions, which were later included in the unpublished manuscript “The Prophecies of Isaiah.”

During their stay in Offenbach, Akiva and Avraham were baptized and assumed the names of Joseph and Max Klarenberg. Yonah’s daughter Deborah married Löw Enoch Edler von Hönigsberg, another important Sabbatian leader and author of numerous kabbalistic manuscripts.

In 1849, Gottlieb Wehle (1802–1881), the great-uncle of Justice Louis Dembitz Brandeis and a first cousin of Zacharias Frankel, settled in New York. In his last will, Gottlieb Wehle presented the Sabbatianism of his ancestor as an emancipatory movement of social and moral advance, leading revolution against petrified orthodoxy.”

How did the Lansdorfers link up with the Wehles?

Here’s one suggestion: The last student of Abraham Broda, named above, is

R’ Netanel Weil / Wehle, author of the ‘Korban Netanel’.

LET’S GET BACK TO R’ ABRAHAM BRODA / ROVIGO.

How do we know that ‘Abraham Broda’ is one and the same as ‘Avraham Rovigo’?

Simple. Both of them lived at exactly the same time, and both of them wrote a book called ‘Eshel Avraham’. Here’s a link to an early edition of that book, and here’s a write up about it:

“[Zohar] Mordechai ben Yehudah Leib Ashkenazi and Abraham ben Michael Rovigo. [Hebrew Text:]. Sefer Eshel Avraham … be-ve’ur shiv’ah yeme Be-reshit ve-sod ta’ame Torah. Furth: Model of Ansbach in the House of Tsevi Hirsh ben Yosef Segal, 1701.            

Mordechai ben Yehudah Leib Ashkenazi of Zolkiev, 1695-1702, Kabbalist and Shabbatean. Ashkenazi  wrote the Eshel Avraham “based on a new interpretation of the Zohar he received from heaven.”….

Ashkenazi states that through the principles revealed in this book one can understand more of the Zohar in three months than others have been able to do in many years. This work has the enthusiastic approbations of the great rabbis of the period even though the author was a Shabbatean…..

Rovigo (circa 1650-1713) Italian kabbalist and Shabbatean. “Rovigo studied in Venice, where he became one of the leading pupils of Moses Zacuto in Kabbalah… Since he belonged to a wealthy family, Rovigo was able to devote himself exclusively to his studies; he became widely known as a supporter of pious enterprises and later also of Shabbatean activities…

Becoming one of the main supporters of the moderate wing of Shabbateanism, he gathered around him many secret followers of the movement… In 1700-1 he spent a whole year seeing through the press the Zoharic commentaries of Mordecai Ashkenazi (of Zolkiev, 1695-1702), in Fuerth, a place that seemed more sympathetic to secret Shabbateans than Mantua or Venice.”

In 1702, Avraham Broda / Rovigo set up a Shabbatean kabbalist yeshiva in Jerusalem, in preparation for the ‘second coming’ of Shabtai Tzvi. Who did he ask for advice, on who to include in this Shabbatean beit midrash? Israel Chasid, son in law of Judah Ha-Hasid:

ISAIAH ḤASID FROM ZBARAZH (17th–18th centuries), Shabbatean scholar, the son-in-law of *Judah he-Ḥasid. In 1700 Isaiah Ḥasid immigrated to Jerusalem with his father-in-law and his companions. When the kabbalist Abraham *Rovigo arrived in *Jerusalem in 1702 and founded there a bet midrash for ten select members, he took Isaiah Ḥasid’s advice as to who should be admitted to it.

There are many, many links between the settlement of Eretz Yisrael over the last 200 years and all these Shabbatians.

We will, BH, get to that in another post. For now, let’s carry on trying to pin down Abraham Broda’s descendants.

And here is where things are about to get even more controversial.

The official history lists the following children for Abraham Broda:

  • Moshe Broda (1675-1741), Rav of Tiktin / Tykocin, then Bamberg, then Rav of Varmisai.

His daughter Sarah marries R Shmuel Shlesinger. They have a son called Moshe Ginz, and he has a son called Rav Akiva Eiger.

Yes, the famous Rabbi Akiva Eiger is the great-grandson of the Shabbatean prophet Avraham Rovigo.

On geni.com, we learn that the Eshel Avraham has six more children that the official history doesn’t really talk about. These include:

  • An unnamed daughter, who is the wife of R Yosef Moshe of Breslau.
  • R’ Shlomo Zalman Braude (dies 1742), the ABD of Mergentheim.
  • Esther, who marries R’ Isaak Nathan Schwabacher.

I think this ‘Shlomo Zalman Braude’ is the father of the Vilna Gaon (and also possibly connected to Shneur Zalman, Chabad’s Alter Rebbe.)

Let’s try to continue unpicking all this.

The official history ignores all these other children, then suddenly jumps to recounting the history of Aharon Broda, the ABD of Kalwaria, later dayan in Vilna, without explaining how he is connected to Abraham Broda / Rovigo (the Eshel Avraham)

Aharon Broda is listed as having two brothers:

  1. R’ Itzhak ‘Harif’ Broda, of Meitzad (who is possibly the same ‘Yitzhak Harif’ of Krakow, who learns with the Eshel Avraham, above).
  2. R’ Avraham Broda, the ABD of Serhei – who we are told is a ‘close friend’ of the Vilna Gaon.

Now, let’s go to the ‘official genealogy’ for the Vilna Gaon HERE, we learn the following:

Yehudah Leib Vilner son of Eliyahu Gaon of Vilna and Khana of Keidan, born 1764, Vilna, Lithuania, married daughter of Avraham of Serhei and Esther Jaffe, born Alinka, Lithuania, . Yehudah died 1816, Neustadt- Sugind, Lithuania.

Yehuda Leib Vilner is listed as a son of the Vilna Gaon, and one of the main people who disseminated his father’s teachings, after his death in 1797.

There are many, many mysteries surrounding the genealogy of the Vilna Gaon, but here we have at least one clear piece of information officially linking his family to that of the Sabbatian prophet, the Eshel Avraham.

(This is a good time to remember that all these Sabbatians liked to keep things in the family, and often just kept marrying each other. That’s also why I think the ‘Shlomo Zalman Broda’ listed above is a likely candidate for the Vilna Gaon’s father.)

If we continue with the official genealogy of the Broda family, we are told that Aaron Broda (ABD of Kalawaria and dayan of Vilna, brother of Abraham Broda of Serhei) has six sons – but it only lists five:

  • Binyamin Broda, ABD of Horodna / Grodna
  • Aryeh Leib Broda, ABD of Kalawaria
  • DovBer Broda, ABD of Zablodova
  • Yosef Broda, Rav of Tiktin / Tykocin
  • Tzvi Hirsh Broda of Salant – the first rebbe of Yisrael Salanter, the founder of the mussar movement

I think the sixth son is Gershon Broda aka Gershon Vilna aka Gershon RIVLIN.

(RIVLIN is just an anagram of VILNER. This piece of information is crucial to understand where the infamous Rivlin family of Shklov that basically control Eretz Israel spring from.)

Now, we go to the blog of Athol Bloomer, a modern-day Frankist / Zoharist / Hebrew Catholic, who has a habit of mixing up a lot of truth with a lot of lies, about what was going on back in Poland around the time of Frank.

I am still trying to work through all of Bloomer’s claims, to see what is true and what isn’t, and it’s a massive job, not least because of all the lies being told on the Jewish community’s side of the fence.

But according to Bloomer, this Binyamin Broda remained in the Jewish community as the Frankist ‘Tzaddik’, after so many of the other Frankists publically converted out:

“Rebbe Benjamin was the Frankist Tzadik of those who remained in the Jewish community but also was known as Alexander Brody in the Christian community.

His first wife was Chaya Rivkah Margolioth (Margarita). His first father-in-law Zvi Hirsh was the Rabbi of Zbaraz in Galicia [who was the son of Mordechai Margolioth]. He went to live with his father-in-law after his marriage and took the name Alexander Margolioth and succeeded him as Rabbi of Zbaraz in about 1774.

After this he was the Rabbi of Ossatin (or Satanov-Ossatin and Satanov have been confused). After 1802 he moved to Shklov.”

I think this ‘Binyamin Broda’ is the same person as ‘Binyamin Rivlin of Shklov’, who is listed as the ‘cousin of the Vilna Gaon, and one of his greatest students’.

In the ‘official history’, Binyamin Rivlin was the father of Hillel Rivlin of Shklov – who lead the Vilna Gaon’s group of Perushim to make aliya to Eretz Yisrael.

This link (in Hebrew) also shows that Binyamin Rivlin was connected to Joshua Zeitlin, and that both men were connected to the Vilna Gaon:

“Together with Rabbi Yehoshua Zeitlin, [Binyamin Rivlin] founded the “Yeshivat Ha’iluim” in Shklov. The Gaon from Vilnius was present at the founding of the yeshiva.”

Both Binyamin Rivlin and Joshua Zeitlin were leaders of the haskalah, as I covered in THIS post.

They were playing a double game – ‘super pious’ Jews in one arena, and men who were pushing for enlightenment and assimilation in another.

This type of stunning, two-faced hypocrisy is a hallmark of Sabbateans, and was honed to a fine art by Frankists.

  • The Eshel Avraham, Avraham Broda / Rovigo was a Sabbatean prophet, and leader of the more moderate branch of Sabbatians.
  • He established yeshivas all over the Jewish world, and had literally thousands of students.
  • Many of his students, including Yonatan Eybshutz, Yonah Lansdorfer and Netanel Weil / Wehle appear to have been secret Sabbatians. This showed itself in their descendants, many of whom were at the forefront of the Frankist movement.
  • There were literally hundreds of leading Rabbis who were secret Sabbatians in the Jewish world, in the century following Shabtai Tzvi’s conversion to Islam and death. Many of these people – like the Shor family – have been airbrushed out of conventional Jewish history.
  • The descendants of these Sabbatians continue to play a very big part in the Jewish world today, both in the diaspora and the State of Israel.
  • Binyamin Broda – a close family member of the Eshel Avraham – is identified with Binyamin Rivlin of Shklov, one of the leading disciples of the Vilna Gaon, and father of Hillel of Shklov, who lead the Perushim to Eretz Yisrael.
  • Binyamin Broda is also identified by Athol Bloomer as being the leader of the ‘secret Frankists’ who remain within the Jewish community.
  • The Vilna Gaon is also ‘officially’ related to the Broda family, via Abraham Broda of Serhei, whose daughter marries the Vilna Gaon’s son, Yehuda Leib.
  • Binyamin Broda / Rivlin and Yehoshua Zeitlin were leaders of the haskalah, and both are closely connected to the Vilna Gaon.
  • Yes, I’m suggesting that the Vilna Gaon and his circle were probably closely connected to secret Sabbatians / Frankists. That’s why there is so much deliberate ‘confusion’ being sown about their genealogies.

And I have a lot more still to share with you, about some other leading Jewish figures who were closely connected to these secret Frankists / Sabbatians.

And I tracked down some more members of the infamous Schor family too, here, who changed their name to ‘Brodski’, became fabulously wealthy, and then intermarried with the Gintsburgs of St Petersburg:

The Brodskiis originated in BrodyGalicia, with the family name Schor; the name Brodskii was taken by Me’ir (Mark) Schor when he moved to the small town of Zlatopol’ in Kiev province in the early nineteenth century. The family had a pedigree of some distinction, as Me’ir’s grandfather had been Rabbi Aleksander Schor, author of a work on Jewish law entitled Simlah ḥadashah.

UPDATE 2:

Joseph Steinhardt’s father was called Menachem Mendel Steinhardt.

He was also from the notorious Shor family.

There appears to be some confusion in what I’ve found online as to whether he was one and the same person as Menachem Mendel of Nikolsburg, who wrote a book called She’elot and Teshuvot Tzemech Tzedek, or just his grandson, with the same name.

What’s not in dispute is that ‘Menachem Mendel Steinhardt’ wrote a book called Divrei Iggeret, which maybe you won’t be so surprised to know, was criticised (and also hailed) as the ‘harbinger of the reform movement’.

The following info about Menachem Mendel Steinhardt (Shor) comes from the ANU musueam database:

Born in Fuerth, Germany, he became rabbi in Minden and then in Hildesheim. He was involved with the forerunners of the Reform movement and was the first German rabbi to preach in German and to omit sections of the traditional liturgy. His lenient ruling permitting legumes to be eaten on Passover provoked the anger of the Orthodox rabbis.

If we go back to geni.com, we can make the link between Menachem Mendel Schor (Steinhardt) and the infamous Elisha Schor, Rav of Rohatyn, whose whole family came out openly as Frankists, and converted en masse to Polish catholicism:

Menachem Mendel’s great-grandfather, Zalman, was Elisha Schor’s brother.

One of the ‘forerunners of the Reform Movement’ was a man named Israel Jacobson. Menachem Mendel Steinhardt and he were in close cahoots together.

I have a hunch that ‘Israel Jacobson’ is probably one of Jacob Frank’s children or grandchildren, who stayed within the Jewish community to disrupt it internally.

As I’ve discovered, many of Frank’s descendants went by some version of ‘the son of Jacob’ as their surname.

As I’m sure you can appreciate, the tracks leading back to Jacob Frank have been obscured, so it’s going to take me a while to unpick it all to find out.

Let’s try and explain what ‘Sabbateanism’ and ‘Frankism’ really are.

Before we move forward (very cautiously…) in exploring what happened to all those many thousands of ‘pious orthodox Jews’ (including big rabbis) who were really secret Sabbateans, let’s first back up, and try to understand what it means to be a ‘Sabbatean’, or a ‘Frankist’, or whatever today’s branding of that very old ‘religion’ actually is.

A few months ago, I put together a crash course on the history of Shabtai Tzvi and Jacob Frank, which you can (and probably should…) go and read here:

This post isn’t going to rehash that more historical information.

Instead, it’s going to try to explain what Sabbatean / Frankists actually believe, and how their beliefs have trickled down into every layer of Jewish life, religious and secular – and why that’s such a problem for us today.

Ready?

Let’s kick off.

‘The problem’, primarily, is NOT that Shabtai Tzvi’s followers, and then Jacob Frank’s followers believed that these men were potential candidates for Moshiach.

It’s a principle of Jewish faith, enumerated by the Rambam, that we should expect the Moshiach to arrive every single moment, and there is no ‘sin’ involved – whatsoever – in thinking someone might be a potential candidate for Moshiach.

Of course, that candidate has to fit the criteria laid out by the Sages, to help us identify who the Moshiach really is.

If someone is a Moloch-worshipping, baby-slaughtering prince of black magic – for example – then even if they do happen to ‘descend from King David’, that’s still not enough to swing the vote to crown them Moshiach.

Or at least, it shouldn’t be.

So, the problem wasn’t so much that so many people in the Jewish community believed Shabtai Tzvi was ‘Moshiach’, at least initially, until he converted to Islam and then died without redeeming anyone.

The problem was, and always has been, with the ‘theology’ that the Sabbateans, and the Frankists and Donmeh after them, teach.

I know this stuff can be hard for a person to get their head around, so let’s go slowly.

Judaism is based upon the idea that when we fulfill Hashem’s will, i.e. by performing a positive ‘mitzvah’ or by avoiding a negative / evil action or transgression, that is how we rectify the world.

When the holy Arizal came along, he revealed way more kabbalah that explains this process of ‘raising the sparks of kedusha’ out of the evil shells, or klipot, that they had fallen into, when the original ‘vessels of light’ exploded, at the creation of the world.

Those slivers of sublime kedusha are now embedded in every layer of creation, and are hidden all over the place, in this concrete, materialistic world we currently inhabit.

Every time we do a mitzvah – defined as performing God’s will – we raise up more of these sparks of holiness, and give them back to God. When this process is complete, and all the sparks have been lifted out of the side of evil and put back in their rightful place, the world will be fully rectified, and geula will occur.

This is the basic idea, clearly very simplified.

To keep this real, let’s give a few examples.

When you say a blessing on that apple, you are lifting the spark of kedusha out of its materialistic shell, and returning it to God in a rectified state.

Similarly, when you avoid getting angry at really annoying and frustrating people and situations, you are also rectifying some of the sparks of kedusha located in your own body / soul combo, and doing the job of purifying your neshama.

Every single second we are alive on this earth, we have the chance and the choice to ‘rectify sparks of holiness’ in this way – or to do the opposite.

There are two ways we can do the opposite of building the world, and rectifying the fallen sparks.

One way is by NOT doing positive commandments, like laying tefillin, or reciting brachot on the food we eat.

While this is not contributing anything to building and rectifying the world – which is basically the whole point of being alive – this ‘absence of good’ is still the lesser evil.

Because the second way of doing the opposite of rectifying the sparks is:

By transgressing the negative commandments and deliberately doing exactly the opposite of how Hashem told us we can fix the world.

And this is where we segue back in, to our discussion of what ‘Sabbateanism’ and ‘Frankism’ really stands for.

As we learned in the post about the ‘bad Baal Shem’ of London, Samuel Chaim Falk, yimach shmo, these people were not irreligious, or ‘secular’. Anything but.

They were deeply religious, often very ascetic and spent their whole life in pursuit of ‘spirituality’.

It’s just that their ‘spirituality’ was all coming from the dark side.

As I’ve discussed before, they took the notion that the Moshiach will only come when the world it ‘totally good’ or ‘totally bad’ literally, and decided that the world could never be ‘totally good’.

So, if they really wanted Moshiach (and man, they really wanted Moshiach now!!!, whatever else you can say about them) – they decided that the only way to get him to come was by making the world ‘totally bad’.

All the s*xual immorality that you find by both the original Sabbateans, and also within their splinter groups of the (externally Muslim) Donmeh in Turkey, and the (externally Catholic) Frankists in the West and Israel, is not an accident.

The Sabbateans and Frankists were masters of kabbalah, (which don’t forget, is the basis of all black magic in the world, because it’s truly the ‘recipe’ that Hashem used to create the physical world.)

They understood way more than most of us, the tremendous power of evil that could be harnessed through misusing the act of procreation.

That’s why ‘sacred orgies’ were such a big part of Sabbateanism and Frankism.

That’s why they went out of their way to engage in forbidden relationships of the very worst sort, including transgressing the prohibition of incest.

That’s why Frankists (and also Freemasons) were known to deliberately engage in acts of ‘auto-eroticism’ before any big festival, or project, or ‘spiritual service’ they were undertaking.

It wasn’t an accident or a mistake.

It was totally deliberate, to ‘capture’ the power of the evil created by their misuse of the procreative act, and use it to juice up all their other evil designs.

So, the main problem wasn’t that people were ‘worshipping’ Shabtai Tzvi or Frank as the messiah (although we’ll discuss more about that in a moment.)

The main problem was that essentially, these ‘secret Sabbateans’ and ‘secret Frankists’ were effectively binding themselves to the side of evil, in the most extreme way.

Remember, we are dealing with arch-hypocrites here.

They were and are the epitome of ‘two faced’.

They often present a very makpid, orthodox religious face to the outside world, and judge other people oh so very harshly for their minor infractions and failings, while all the time pretending to be ‘perfect and infallible’ themselves – because behind closed doors, they are doing whatever the heck they please.

So now we hopefully understand that Sabbateanism / Frankism was about the worship of evil, and not just about some case of ‘mistaken identity’ about who was going to be the Moshiach, let’s return to the historical side of things, to lay out what was actually going on.

And how that’s still affecting us today.

First, here’s some basic tenets of what I’ll call ‘Sabbateanism theology’.

As we already learned, Sabbateans hold that you rectify the world by performing acts of evil, and deliberately going against the explicit will of Hashem.

They also hold that as soon the ‘Messianic Era’ began, the ‘upside-down world’ was turned the other way up, which meant that every ‘Thou shalt not’ became a positive commandment.

In their warped ideology, it was now a mitzvah to kill, rob, steal, covet, and commit adultery and incest.

That’s why they used to have a ‘blessing’ lehavdil of: “Blessed art thou, L–d, who cancels and allows the prohibitions.”

Clearly, it wasn’t Hashem who they were blessing by saying this.

So who was it?

Sabbateans also taught that the soul of Shabtai Tzvi, their false messiah, would come back in one of two ways to ‘complete the job of redemption’.

(Yes I know. We’ve heard that before somewhere, haven’t we?)

Either, Shabtai Tzvi would have a ‘second coming’, where he would literally rise from the dead, or come out of the cave he was hiding in, or beam down from the spaceship he’d flown off to gan eden in (maybe together with Elvis Presley, who knows?).

OR

The specific soul of Shabtai Tzvi would ‘reincarnate’ into one of his followers, as part of the secret of ibbur, and complete the job that way.

Part of the reason it’s so hard to pin down some of the errors in Sabbatean theology, is because so much of it was wrapped around a kernel of truth, from authentic and holy yiddishkeit.

For example, on the side of kedusha we know that there is a special type of soul referred to as the ‘Tzaddik yesod olam’ – ‘Tzaddik, the foundation of the world.’

There is only one of these souls to be found in every generation, and that soul is the soul of the potential soul of the Moshiach.

Pay close attention, because I’m going to try to explain the subtle, but hugely meaningful difference between genuine Jewish belief and Sabbatean / Frankist heresy here.

The Zohar teaches us that this soul of the redeemer, aka the Moshiach of the generation, contains all the soul sparks of the entire nation of Israel.

Every single one of us from big to small, and from left to right, and even from ‘most evil’ to ‘most holy’ is included in this soul of the Moshiach.

That’s why each of us has a very real role to play in ‘bringing Moshiach’, because the more we work on rectifying ourselves, and particularly the bad middot, the more we are bringing that spirit of Moshiach down into the world.

This is not what the Sabbateans and Frankists (and heck, let’s include the xtians here too, as it’s effectively the same problem) believe.

They believe that *one particular person*, one particular soul, is *the* Moshiach.

And that *particular person* just keeps coming back and reincarnating in a different body, or even ‘taking over the body’ of a different person, in something that sounds akin to demonic possession, until they get the job done.

It’s a subtle difference, but it literally makes all the difference in the world:

‘Moshiach’ as the ‘mirror’ / composite soul of the whole of the Jewish people – which means we all have our part to play to get to geula – or ‘Moshiach’ as one specific guy who comes and ‘fixes’ everyone else.

It’s also the difference between a false Moshiach that’s ‘branded’ as belonging to a particular group, or sect, and a Moshiach that represents the entirety of the Jewish people.

That’s why after Shabtai Tzvi died, there was a massive power struggle between his closest followers to try to claim that they were his true incarnation.

Whoever could convince the massive group of followers that they were ‘Shabtai Tzvi #2’ would inherit the power base, the followers, the influence, the power, the money.

That’s why there were so many different ‘false prophets’ of Sabbateanism after Shabtai Tzvi died, and that’s why there were so very many ‘false messiahs’ in the 18th century, when his followers had finally given up on the idea of the ‘second coming of Shabtai Tzvi’, and moved over to the second model described above.

So, when Jacob Frank, yimach shmo, turned up on the scene, he wasn’t trying to create a ‘new religion’.

All he did, at least initially, was to stake his claim as being that generations ‘incarnation’ of Shabtai Tzvi.

As I’ve mentioned, there were huge pockets of secret Sabbateans all over Turkey, Podolia, Italy, Amsterdam and Germany, at this time. Anywhere you had Jewish communities, you also had large groups of Sabbateans.

Some communities, like Rohatyn, Zolkiew, Podholice and Furth (to give just some examples) were known to be almost entirely ‘Sabbatian’ in the 18th century.

Externally, these were still communities of ostensibly ‘orthodox’ Jews.

They still had ‘Av Beis Dins’, and synagogues, and shochets, and yeshivas. But behind closed doors?

There was a poisonous root of ‘anti-Torah’ heresy growing and spreading.

Before I learned all this, it always amazed me how someone like Jacob Frank could show up and convince tens of thousands of orthodox Jews – including big rabbis like the distinguished ‘Shor family’– to drop their religion so quickly, and publically convert to Catholicism.

Once I realized that Frank was just the latest in a very long line of ‘false messiahs’ to successfully inherit the ‘crown’ of Shabtai Tzvi, it all made way more sense.

So now, let’s end this post with some examples of specific ‘Frankist’ theology, that will hopefully help you to detect some of those ‘Frankist’ influences that are currently all around us, in the Jewish world.

Shabtai Tzvi gave us ‘doing bad’ as a mitzvah, and deliberately perverting the procreative act.

His doctrine is almost certainly behind all the child abuse scandals plaguing both the Catholic church and the ultra-orthodox Jewish community.

Frank added to this:

  • Literally worshipping ‘the messiah’ as though he is god (deliberate small ‘g’ here, to respect the Almighty).
  • Sanctifying and encouraging incest (which went one step further than Shabtai Tzvi).
  • Raising religious hypocrisy to an artform, where his followers would ‘pretend’ to be devout orthodox Jews, and later, devout Catholics, while secretly working to subvert from within.
  • Actively promoting assimilation within the wider community – (in later years he wrote about his desire to create a ‘one world religion’ to encompass Judaism, xtianity and Islam. Does that sound familiar?)
  • Deliberately going against even external compliance with Torah law (but only to the degree accepted by the doctrinal norms of the Catholic church, which is why he kept his s*xual immorality / nihilism and dark occultic practices more hidden.)
  • Actively promoting settlement in Israel, to await ‘the final redemption’.

This last one included the following elements:

  • Actively promoting Jews living on what was called ‘agricultural settlements’, which became the forerunner of the kibbutzim in the State of Israel.
  • Actively encouraging Jews to become soldiers.

Frank himself had an army, and encouraged his followers to engage in military training.

And if you look into who was encouraging ‘agricultural settlements’, both in Russia, the new world and Eretz Israel, you will start to identity many of the ‘secret Frankists’ who have so far escaped detection.

I know, this is big, heavy stuff, isn’t it?

I know.

This morning, I was talking to God again about what He really wants from me here, because God forbid I should do anything He doesn’t want me to do.

I’m very happy to leave this can of worms untouched, if that’s what He wants.

But the message I keep getting – loudly – is continue!!!!!

These secret Frankists have been holding the rest of the Jewish world hostage for way too long already, and delaying redemption.

And from what I can tell, God’s finally had enough of it.

The research I’m doing into the Frankists is taking me down some very strange paths in Jewish history.

I started this project off because I was trying to get to the bottom of who is really behind the persecution of Rabbi Eliezer Berland, at least in Israel.

Initially, I thought it was a bunch of leftists, reform-minded Jews from America.

Then, it widened out to include a bunch of Torah-hating non-Jews who probably worship Moloch (and control most of the world….)

And now, strangest of all, I seem to be dealing with a bunch of externally ‘orthodox’ Jews whose belief system, internally, is anything but orthodox.

This is a massive project, and I’m very wary of putting conclusions ‘out there’ prematurely, or even at all.

I’m not drawing conclusions yet because I still have no firm idea where all this is leading and also, because I’m discovering that so many of the famous names I’m researching often had different personas, or alter egos, that went by a totally different name.

And trying to pin it all down, and to really make sense of it all, is extremely challenging.

That said, there a few tidbits that I want to float past you, as the more of us who engage with this process on the soul level, the faster the birur of what is really going on will happen.

So first, here’s the thesis that seems to be unfolding:

The 18th century was chock-full of ‘false messiahs’ and ‘prophets of Shabtai Tzvi’ who were either predicting that he would rise from the dead, OR who developed a doctrine that the soul of Shabtai Tzvi would reincarnate in the present generation, to lead the faithful forward.

Examples of the first route are Yehudah Leib ben Ya‘akov Holleschau, the false prophet of Prosschitz, who ‘prophesized’ that Shabtai Tzvi would rise from the dead in 1706.

(As a side note, Yehuda HeHassid lead his contingent of 1,500 (sabbatian) Jews to the holy land in 1700, as part of the attempt to be ‘ready’ for when Shabtai Tzvi showed up again.)

Yehuda Leib wasn’t excommunicated for publically teaching his beliefs by the then Rabbi of Prosschitz, Rabbi Meir Eisenstadt.

Why not?

Because Rabbi Meir Eisenstadt (the ‘Meirot Panim’) was one of his followers.

That’s an incredible piece of information, just let that sink in.

And do you know who else was one of Yehuda Leib’s students? Rabbi Yonatan Eybshutz.

So, 1706 came and went, and when Shabtai Tzvi didn’t show up as promised – only then did Rabbi Meir turn against Yehuda Leib, banish him from Prossnitz and excommunicate him.

An example of the second approach is Rabbi Meir Eisenstadt’s own brother, Mordechai Mokiach, who threw his hat in the ring as ‘the reincarnation’ of Shabtai Tzvi.

Mordechai Mokiach also wasn’t ‘excommunicated’ for Sabbatean beliefs. Quite the opposite – he was lauded, summoned to Italy by the Jewish community there, and also became a ‘famous personality’ in other communities, too.

Here’s a little about how Mordechai Mokiach (Eisenstadt, brother of Rabbi Meir Eisenstadt) was connected to another member of the Eybshutz family, Ber Eybshutz (also known as Ber Perlhefter):

In the late 1670s and early 1680s, Ber became deeply involved in the Sabbatean movement as a maggid in the circle of Abraham ben Michael Rovigo (c. 1650–1713) in Modena.

He was instrumental in shaping the moderate wing of the movement after the death of Sabbetai Zevi. Though he initially pinned hopes on Mordecai of Eisenstadt (1650–1729) as a second redeeming figure, he later became disappointed and renounced his support.

His interest in the movement may have attracted the attention of the noted Christian Hebraist Johann Christoph Wagenseil (1633–1705), Professor of Hebraica at the Lutheran University at Altdorf, who employed Jews and converts as translators and informants in his Hebraist enterprise.

Ber Eybshutz was a famous rabbi of his time.

Nobody excommunicated him.

Also, there is something just so strange going on with the geni.com website for all these famous people with Sabbatian links. Their family records are deliberately altered, dates are changed or omitted to disrupt the chain of descent, family members are scrubbed off, false spouses and siblings are assigned – all to make it so much harder to work out who these people really were.

And who their descendants really are today.

So I’m still working on trying to figure out how ‘Ber Eybshutz’ relates to Jonathan Eybshutz, and many of his other family members who were part of the continuing cult of Shabtai Tzvi within the orthodox Jewish community.

As for Mordechai Mokiach, his descendants changed their names to ‘Pick’ and ‘Berlin’, and quickly became leading figures back in the orthodox Jewish community again.

Here’s some more strange things, that I’m trying to fit into the whole picture of what was really going on, back in the 18th century.

Did you know that Yonatan Eybshutz and the Vilna Gaon (!) were good friends? They were such ‘good friends’ that Yonatan Eybshutz even wrote to the Vilna Gaon, asking him to publicly support him in his argument with Yaacov Emden, over the infamous ‘Sabbatian amulets’?

This from Wikipedia:

In 1755, when the Gaon was thirty-five, Rabbi Jonathan Eybeschütz, then sixty-five years old, applied to him for an examination of and decision concerning his amulets, which were a subject of discord between himself and Rabbi Jacob Emden.

The Vilna Gaon, in a letter to Eybeschütz, stated his support of Eybeschutz but that he did not believe that words coming from a stranger like himself, who had not even the advantage of old age, would be of any weight with the contending parties.

Recently, notarised copies of those infamous amulets turned up and were analysed by scholars.

They showed that they were Sabbatian in nature. Here’s the text:

“In the name of [YKVK] the God of Israel, who dwelleth in the beauty of His strength, the God of His anointed one Shabbethai Ẓebi, who with the breath of His lips shall slay the wicked, I decree and command that no evil spirit plague, or accident harm, the bearer of this amulet.”

So, how can it be that the Vilna Gaon wrote a letter siding with his ‘good friend’ Yonatan Eybshutz?

Increasingly, the idea is taking shape that most of the orthodox Jewish community of the 18th century – and especially the rabbis – was ‘Sabbatian’ to some degree or other.

Which is profoundly shocking, at least to me.

I’m currently working on trying to figure out who Jacob Frank really was, in terms of his family connections, who his descendants married, and where the descendants of these other Sabbatean ‘prophets’ ended up.

I’ve already made some connections with Lea Golda Broda, the grand-daughter of Avraham Broda / Rovigo, the author of the Eshel Avraham, that are truly shocking.

But before I can really get to the bottom of this, my research keeps spiralling out further and further, into more unanswered questions about some of the biggest names in the Jewish world.

Does it make sense, to you, that the Vilna Gaon would apparently ‘excommunicate’ the chassidim of the Rabbi of Mezritch and Chabad’s Alter Rebbe, while leaving obviously Sabbatean rabbis like Yonatan Eybshutz alone – and even writing them letters of support?

Does it make sense that Yonatan Eybshutz’s reputation would be so ‘whitewashed’ and revered, even in our days, when he was so obviously and clearly a Sabbatean?

Why is it, that the family trees of so many of our ‘big’ rabbis are so deliberately convoluted, mixed up and deceptive?

How can it be, that the Mittler Rebbe of Chabad had two daughters both called ‘Sarah’, and also two daughters with the name ‘Chaya’, and no-one thought that was odd?

How can it be, that apart from the descendants of Shneur Zalman, there is no-one else listed under the family tree of ‘Betzalel Lowe’, who was apparently the son of the Maharal of Prague? Everyone else on his tree apparently died young, had no children, or is unnamed.

Which is so very strange, because the family trees of ‘Betzalel Lowe’s’ brothers and sisters literally spew on for page after millionth page, in all their glorious detail.

So as you can see, I am currently grappling with way more questions than I have concrete answers.

But I can tell you one thing for sure:

There is some sort of massive cover up going on here, that spans every part of the Jewish world, orthodox and unorthodox, Zionist and ‘anti’ Zionist, Litvak and Chassidut, ‘Israeli’ and ‘Chutzniki’.

And when (if….) I get to the bottom of what’s really going on here, I will finally have the answer to who has been persecuting Rabbi Berland – and the answer to many other ‘big mysteries’ of the Jewish community, too.

Posting has been slow on this blog, as I’ve been discovering earth-shattering bits of information that totally transform the picture of ‘real Jewish history’ that we’ve all been taught.

I’m still drawing my conclusions, but here are a few tidbits, in the meantime.

I will paint a big picture in this post, where I’m just laying out the lay of the land, without giving the specifics to prove it. I’m still deliberating on what God wants me to do with all this, so in the meantime, I’m steering a cautious path against totally spelling things out.

For now.

So, here’s the deal.

The false messiah Shabtai Tzvi lived 1626-1676.

While he was the ‘figurehead’ for Sabbateanism, what is not really known is that many of the leading rabbis – and also the leading xtians – at that time were predicting 1666 as ‘the year’ that the messiah would show up.

So, they were looking for a suitable candidate to fit the bill, and the clearly mentally-ill, delusional (and yet very charismatic) Shabtai Tzvi fit the bill.

He was helped along by ‘prophets’ like Nathan of Gaza, who wrote most of his ‘theology’ based on a deep, but totally warped understanding of the kabbalah.

He was also supported by hundreds and even thousands of rabbis and kabbalists across the world, particularly in places like Amsterdam, Leghorn, Prague and Aleppo – anywhere with a strong contingency of marranos who had been steeped in xtian theology for 150 years +, and / or who had a strong tradition of studying and using ‘practical kabbalah’, aka black magic.

Which sad to say, was most of the Jewish world.

So, Shabtai Tzvi converts to Islam, then dies a decade later, in 1676 – and the movement continues.

In arguments that sound just oh so familiar, his followers claim that their rebbe, Shabtai, is just ‘hidden’ from the world. They quote and misquote biblical passages explaining how the soul of this false moshiach is doing a massive tikkun, hidden away, and will return to the world soon.

There is a schism. Some followers believe that Shabtai Tzvi is going to rise from the dead – and make a big effort to get to Eretz Yisrael in 1700 to greet him – while others take their Sabbatian ‘theology’ off in a different direction, that again is a warped version of a Jewish fundamental truth.

The soul of Shabtai Tzvi is going to get reincarnated into the next contender for [false…] messiah, as there is a potential moshiach in every generation.

Over the next few years, all sorts of people, both in the so-called ‘Ashkenazi’ and the so-called ‘Sephardi’ world throw their hat in the ring as a contender for the position of the next [false…] messiah, which will make them defacto the leader of the huge community of secret and not-so-secret Sabbatians, who are all over the Jewish world.

Some of them are relatives of Shabtai Tzvi like Jacob Querido.

Jacob Querido (‘the Beloved’, ca. 1650–1690, AlexandriaEgypt) was the successor of the self-proclaimed Jewish Messiah Sabbatai Zevi. Born in Thessaloniki, he was the son of Joseph the Philosopher and brother of Jochebed, Shabbatai Zevi’s last wife. Jochebed (also called ‘Ā’ishah following her conversion to Islam) claimed that he was the reincarnation of her late spouse, so that he might succeed to the leadership of Sabbatai’s followers.[1] He attracted a considerable following of his own, called Ya‘qōviyīm or Yakubiler.[1]

Querido converted to Islam taking his name as Yakup in 1687 and playing an important role in the Dönmeh.[2] He led his disciples on a pilgrimage to Mecca. He died in Alexandria on his way back.

Then, there are pretenders to the throne that show up all over Israel, Italy and Podolia, too, the part of Poland / Ukraine that borders Turkey, and which is famous as the cradle of chassidut.

Ashkenazi Sabbatean False Moshiachs include (but is not limited to):

Yehuda Leib ben Yaakov Holleschau of Prossnitz – who is supported in his claims, at least for a while, by Rabbi Meir Eisenstadt, the Rav of Prossnitz.

(Oh, and by the way, Rav Meir just happens to be the Rosh Yeshiva of Yonatan Eybshutz… Does that name ring a bell?)

Clearly, Rav Meir is a very upstanding, honest and sincere sort, because his own brother, Mordechai Mokiah, also claims to be false messiah at this time, too.

This from the Jewish Encyclopaedia entry, 1906:

MORDECAI MOKIAḤ (called also Mordecai of Eisenstadt):

Shabbethaian prophet and false Messiah; born in Alsace about 1650; died at Presburg May 18, 1729. The death of Shabbethai Ẓebi (1676) seems to have encouraged his followers, who claimed that he had returned to his heavenly abode and would come back in three years to finish his Messianic task.

Chaim Malakh – who was instrumental in developing large communities of Sabbatians in Podolia, and linking them to other Sabbatian communities around the world:

 [H]e served as an emissary and a link between different Sabbatian factions.

The pattern of his travels reveals the existence of a clandestine Sabbatian network spanning Europe and the Ottoman Empire.

Malakh was initiated into all major branches of Sabbatian theology. after his initial flirtation with the moderate Sabbatianism of Rovigo and Kohen, he accepted the much more radical doctrines of Primo (advocating the deification of the messiah) and Barukhyah (calling for annulment of the commandments)…. Malakh’s main impact was in transmitting the teachings of the Turkish Sabbatians to Europe, especially to Podolia. It is likely that many of Jakub Frank’s early disciples came from the communities established by Malakh.

Point being, that when the notorious Jacob Frank showed up, he was just the latest of wannabe ‘fake messiahs’, pretenders to Shabtai Tzvi’s throne (and massive audience of followers.)

Again, let’s spell this out clearly:

‘Sabbateanism’ didn’t die with Shabtai Tzvi.

A new religion developed, often clothed externally in very pious ‘orthodox Jewish’ garments, that was basically an amalgamation of xtian and Jewish beliefs about fixing the world and the coming of the Moshiach.

Many of the leading rabbis all over the world were ‘secret Sabbateans’, followers and promoters of this new variant of Judaism, oh so similar to xtianity in some deep ways, and many of these people continued a double life of being ‘frum Jews’ in one setting, and being ‘secret Sabbatean believers’ behind closed doors.

On top of that, many of these people (who also happened to be wealthy merchants and businessmen) travelled all over the world.

And also had different identities and names (and probably also families….) in different places, too.

So it was, that you could have an ‘Avraham Rovigo’, known Sabbatean prophet, who was apparently the leader of the Italian Sabbatean Kabbalists, but at the same time, you could also have an ‘Avraham Broida’, scion of a famous Prague family and ABD in Eastern Europe.

It’s the same guy.

And that piece of information has very profound consequences for us, and our Jewish community, of 2020.

In the course of writing this post, I tripped over another massive bit of evidence to show just how ‘profound’ this connection is.

But for now I’m keeping shtum.

Let’s leave you with this disturbing thought:

Most of the people we were taught to revere as being very pious individuals over the last 400 years were actually very closely linked to Sabbateanism and / or Jacob Frank.

Frank’s descendants mamash married into some of the most ‘prestigious’ families you can think of, but all this was carefully covered up, so that you and me wouldn’t know it.

What’s more, Frank’s descendants and followers are on all sides of the equation.

They are in leading positions both within Eretz Yisrael, and without.

They are in the Knesset, and they are in Bnei Brak.

They are on the ‘left’, politically, and also on the ‘right’.

They are ‘secular’ and ‘assimilated’ – and also super-frum.

And they have been joining with a particular group of non-Jews to run the show all over the world for the last 250 years.

So that is what we’re up against.

And that is what I am up to my eyeballs trying to research at the moment.

Who these secret Sabbatian / secret Frankist people WERE then, and who their descendants are NOW.

And the answers are totally mind-blowing.

A few months back, following some of the clues about real Jewish history that is scattered throughout Rabbi Eliezer Berland’s book Conversations, I tripped over a whole bunch of information about Jacob Frank, and his ‘Frankist’ movement, that you can read more about HERE.

When I’d finished writing that piece, I thought I’d more or less bottomed-out the greatest secrets being concealed in Jewish history over the last 500 years.

I mean, the fact that Yonatan Eybeschutz WAS a secret follower of the infamous false messiah Shabtai Tzvi; and this his son openly proclaimed himself a Frankist prophet and then converted to Christianity, seemed like enough of a scoop.

And, the fact that Rebbe Nachman and Breslov were being slandered as being ‘secret Frankists’ was also a massive revelation, that explains so very much about what was going on behind the scenes, back then.

So, I put all that research to one side, and came back to more ‘fun’ stuff.

Like Covid 1984. And, like the links between the Rothschild family and the State of Israel. And, the strange intersection between Jews high up in the American administration and military and the fate of those thousands of Yemenite children.

And that, dear reader, is when I stumbled across the biggest can of worms in Jewish history.

I could literally write 100 detailed posts about all the things I’m finding out, but who has time or patience for that?

No-one.

So instead, after getting a prompt in my hitbodedut to start getting this information out there, however simply, I’m going to pick out a few subjects, a few individuals, and tell you their stories, and then hopefully, you will start to fill in more of the blanks for yourselves.

So today, let’s start with Moses Montefiore.

Like I said, it started off innocently enough.

I’d always thought (been brainwashed into believing…) that Moses Montefiore was the builder of modern Jerusalem, and a truly saintly, scrupulously observant, generous individual, who spent great sums of his own money helping his poor Jewish brethren around the world.

True, he was known as being a great confidant and friend of Queen Victoria, which always struck me as a little strange.

And then, I discovered that he was also a leading Freemason, which is when the nagging doubts really started to emerge that something in this pious picture was off.

In 1812, Montefiore became a freemason, joining the Moira Lodge, No. 92 of the Premier Grand Lodge of England in London.

Montefiore was born in Livorno, Italy. He was an active Mason, having been initiated in Moira Lodge in 1812. His brother-in-law, Nathan Meyer Rothschild, had been initiated ten years earlier in the Emulation Lodge. Montefiore and Rothschild had married sisters, daughters of Levi Barent Cohen.

He was knighted in 1837 by Queen Victoria. That same year, Benjamin Disraeli was elected to Parliament as a Tory.

In August of 1840, together with the French Lawyer and high-ranking Masons Adolphe Cremieux (1796-1880), he led a delegation to Turkey and secured the release of the captives of the Damascus blood libel.

We’ll come back to Adolphe Cremieux later on. For now, he’s what you need to remember about him (from Wikipedia):

The Alliance israélite universelle

The Alliance israélite universelle (Hebrew: כל ישראל חברים‎) is a Paris-based international Jewish organization founded in 1860 by the French statesman Adolphe Crémieux to safeguard the human rights of Jews around the world.

And then, two weeks ago, once I’d made the connection that the Rothschilds – and the vast majority of all those Jewish-German banking families were intimately connected to the Frankist movement that swept away European Jewry 200 years ago – I hit another kooshia that refused to be silenced.

Frankist families – and the secret believers in the cult of Shabtai Tzvi, that preceded them – tend to only marry other ‘believers’ in their Frankist / Shabbatean faith.

That’s how they operate, that’s how it works, to keep everyone ‘on plan’ and to ensure that these families’ secrets won’t be spread to outsiders. We saw the same phenomenon with the Marranos in Spain and Portugal, with the Donmeh (pretend Muslim / Shabbatean sect in Turkey), and of course, we see it so very clearly with families like the Rothschilds.

This practice of marrying members of your own family is called ‘endogamy’, and at least where the Rothschilds are concerned, commentators state that they adopted this practice in order to keep all their vast wealth in family hands.

But when I started checking back in the Rothschild genealogy, I quickly noticed a strange thing:

There was a lot of ‘endogamy’ going on amongst these German-Jewish families even preceding Jacob Frank, and the Rothschilds coming into their tremendous wealth.

And then, there was the curious matter of Sir Moses Montefiore – a Sephardi Jew of Spanish and Portuguese descent.

How had he, a Sephardi Jew, come to marry into the Frankist Rothschild clan, even after their enormous fortune had already been well established?

The answer was shocking.

I started digging around Sir Moses Montefiore’s family tree, and I discovered that his family were ‘New Christians’ – forced converts from Spain and Portugal – who only re-adopted their Jewish faith when they hit the relatively tolerant environment of Amsterdam, in the Netherlands.

There was a very large Spanish and Portuguese community there, made up predominantly of former Marranos, and Amsterdam at that time was a hub of trade and commerce, and Jewish life.

There are conservative estimates that at least half of the Jewish community in Amsterdam had become earnest supporters of the false messiah Shabtai Tzvi, with many accounts of people selling their homes and businesses for a fraction of what they were worth, in readiness for the call to move to Eretz Yisrael.

Many of those people fell away from the cult of Shabtai Tzvi when he converted to Islam in 1666, and then died in 1676.

But many didn’t.

One of the things I’ve been discovering more and more, is just how many of these ‘secret Shabbateanisms’ held leading positions in the Jewish world, both on the communal side, and on the rabbinic side (which were often intertwined, in any case).

So many of the ‘big rabbis’ of the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries were actually secret believers in the cult of Shabtai Tzvi, long after he’d been unmasked as a fraud.

Shabtai Tzvi was ultimately a figurehead, a puppet, who fronted a movement that brought together a lot of people with a similarly twisted ideology, including people like Nathan of Gaza, a German Jew living in Jerusalem, who became his main ‘disciple’.

And that’s why this movement outlasted both his apostasy and death, and even strengthened and spread.

As I mentioned in the earlier post on Jacob Frank HERE, there were 3 main groups of people who believed in Shabtai Tzvi:

Group 1: Well-meaning Jews who were duped into believing that SHATZ is the Moshiach between 1665 and his conversion in September in 1666. Large numbers of this group make teshuva after Shabtai becomes an apostate, and return to the Jewish fold.

Group 2: Crypto-Sabbateans – who maintain a pious Jewish exterior, but who engage in all sorts of secret, christian behavior and beliefs behind closed doors, and continue to believe that SHATZ actually is the Moshiach ben Yosef.

Group 3: Hard-core Sabbateans, who are practising the occult, many of whom also sham convert to Islam and / or Catholicism, but whose real religion continues to be Sabbateanism. The infamous ‘Donmeh[1]’ of Turkey belong to this last group, as to the infamous ‘Prague Sabbatians’, headed up by Frank’s cousin, Moshe Dobruska, who are directly connected to the Illuminati.

Many of these Jews schism off and out of the Jewish community, at this point.

But not all of them, especially in Podalia and Frankfurt.

Clearly, that last group of Shabbateans – people who had bought into the warped idea that the Moshiach would only appear when the world was ‘totally bad’, because it was impossible for the world to be ‘totally good’ – were an enormous problem for the Jewish world.

(For reference, this belief is referred to as being ‘antinomian’. That basically means that they turned every aspect of the Jewish faith on its head – eating on fast days, eating pork, committing adultery – in order to ‘make the world bad’ as quickly a possible.)

Part of their attempts to make the world ‘totally bad’ involved engaging in the worst types of promiscuity and adultery – all behind closed doors, of course.

So, back to Moses Montefiore.

Montefiore’s family spent time in Ancona and Leghorn (Ligorno), before moving to London.

HERE, we learn that Nathan of Gaza spent some time in Leghorn before his death, and “made a number of converts” there.

One of the leading ‘disciples’ of the antinomian cult of Shabtai Tzvi, after his death, was a guy called Avraham Rovigo.

Rovigo was a ‘disciple’ of Rabbi Eliyahu Mujajon. You can see a handwritten note from Mujajon HERE, where we also discover that:

The most well-known of Nathan of Gaza’s disciples were Rabbi Shlomo Ayllon (the future Av Beit Din of Amsterdam) and Rabbi Eliyahu Mujajon and they were the ones who distributed the Sabbatean faith in Italy.

Rovigo was given a very warm welcome in many Jewish communities with strong Shabbatean elements, including the Italian town of Leghorn – Livorno.

Montefiore himself was born in Leghorn on October 28, 1784, before moving to London (he died in Ramsgate, England in 1885).

He became prominent in the Spanish and Portuguese community there, and lucky Moses, quickly married into money and respectability – so much so, that even England’s queen counted him as a friend.

Doesn’t that strike you as odd?

[There are some glaring problems with Montefiore’s ‘official’ family tree, so I am going to save that part of the story for the next post. Trying to untwist his family tree led to me finding out something totally unexpected and mind-blowing. More on that in the next post, BH.)

The Spanish and Portuguese synagogue in London is called Bevis Marks.

Back in the day, I used to sometimes eat lunch at the kosher restaurant housed on the premises, when I worked in the City.

Shlomo Ayllon was the Rabbi of Bevis Marks, before he left for Amsterdam under a cloud of Sabbateanism, in 1702.

You have to dig very deep to even get a glimmer of the true story, as over the last 200 years, these people’s descendants – who are still lording it over us, even today – have been very careful to hide their traces.

So now, I’d collected more pieces of the puzzle, and I’d discovered that Moses Montefiore and his family hailed from places with very strong connections to the cult of Shabtai Tzvi. He’d also married into the Shabbatean / Frankist extended family network of the Rothschilds:

Moses married (1812) Judith, daughter of Levi Barent Cohen. Levi Barent Cohen was an Ashkenazi, and it was a sign of indifference, on the part of the Montefiores, to current prejudice that, although they belonged to the London Sephardim, they married German Jewesses.

So now, I hit the next kooshia:

But, wasn’t this guy a strongly orthodox Jew, and a massive helper of his people?! Hadn’t he visited Israel seven times – the last time when he was in his nineties – just because he was so devoted to the welfare of his people?

That sent me down the next rabbit hole.

Just up the road from me in Jerusalem, there is the famous windmill that Moses Montefiore built, together with a row of almshouses, to try to relieve the terrible overcrowding occurring within the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem.

It was the first Jewish community outside the medieval Old City walls.

It was built with the stated aim of trying to get those ‘backwards’ religious Jews modernizing, working for a living instead of relying on the haluka payment, and becoming more emancipated and away from the control of their rabbis.

Are you starting to see the problem?

Then, I learned that Montefiore wasn’t spending his own money when he was arranging for the building of all these ‘modern’ communities outside Jerusalem’s city walls.

He was spending the bequest of a Jew named Judah Touro, a business man from New Orleans, prominent member of the Spanish and Portuguese community there, who was also connected to both the Rothschilds and to the cult of Shabtai Tzvi.

How did Touro, based in the US, have such close connections to Montefiore, based in the UK, to make him the executor of his will?

Whenever I ask myself ‘strange’ questions like this, I end up tripping down some very unexpected rabbit holes. That just happened now, and I will try to share the mind-blowing information I just discovered in the next post.

For now, let’s sum things up broadly like this:

  • Many of the marrano families originally from Spain and Portugal, continued with their double life long after they officially ‘returned’ to the fold of Judaism.
  • Because many of these families were merchants or financiers, engaged in trade, they moved around a lot, and often had different names (and religions, and connections) in the different locales they frequented.
  • They could be ‘Jews’ in one country, in one context – even religious Jews, even ‘chief rabbis’ of whole cities and countries (!) – and then in another place, be known as good christians, with a totally different name.
  • The cults of Shabtai Tzvi and Jacob Frank meshed with many of these marrano families, often seamlessly, as both were built around a core of ‘abolishing’ orthodox Jewry, tinged with very strong (but totally warped….) messianic ambitions.
  • These Jews were also the ‘connecting material’ between the deep kabbalah that was brought into the world by the Arizal (and expanded further when the Zohar was rediscovered, after being hidden for almost 1 ½ millenia), and the kabbalah-based black magic that came to form the basis of the Illuminati lodges, and global networks.
  • But the Jews in this story – bad as they really are – are still just puppets. There is another non-Jewish player in this game above them, and I am inching closer and closer to figuring out who those people really are.

Let’s just get back to Moses Montefiore, to end.

First, this is what you need to know about the British Board of Deputies:

 The board was established to protect the interests of British Jews not only in the British Isles, but in the colonies. It was appealed to from Jamaica in 1761 and from the Balearic Isles in 1766. Meetings were held sporadically in 1778 and 1789.

In the latter year Moses I. Levi was elected as president, and in 1812 the German members of the board became regularly connected with it. The deputies watched over all the legislation relating to marriages, labor laws, and other matters which might affect Jews prejudicially, and aided considerably in the struggle for Jewish emancipation.

In 1835 Sir Moses Montefiore was elected president, and he remained in that office until his death.

Most people don’t understand that the Board was created to protect the global assets of the wealthy Jews back in London.

So even in Victorian times, the Board of Deputies was frequently accused of doing nothing to help the Jews across the globe. Then, as now, the Jewish community didn’t realise that the Board was set up more as a propaganda exercise by London’s leading Jewish families – to make it look like they cared and to give them an ‘in’ within these Jewish communities – than to actually help them.

That sounds harsh, I know, but here’s an anecdote that I found, that kind of encapsulates what was really going on, with the Montefiore-Rothschild controlled Board of Deputies.

(Before I continue, you should also know that the infamous Alliance Israelite Universelle was founded and financed by the French branch of the Rothschilds, using Adolphe Cremieux, from above, as their cut-out frontman.)

Here’s how scholar Mark Cohen explains how the ‘tzaddik’ Montefiore helped the poor, devout Jews of Monastir, whose Jewish quarter ‘mysteriously’ burned down in August 1863, after they refused to modernize their education system:

“After the fire, Monastir’s rabbinical leadership sought the help of London’s Sir Moses Montefiore, who encouraged British Jewry to make donations on behalf of Monastir’s 3,000 homeless Jews.

More than £2,000 was raised. But London did not allow the money to be used to rebuild the traditional Talmud Torah school. It was a revealing if not surprising decision. By the mid-nineteenth century, the Jews of France and England were keen to overhaul the education of the Sephardic Jews in order to prepare them for life as citizens in a rapidly Westernising Ottoman society.

The Talmud Torah schools, which focused exclusively on Hebrew and Talmud, were seen as hindering that goal. In Monastir, British Jewry’s refusal to aid the Talmud Torah helped tip the balance of power away from traditionalist rabbis toward a small group of educational reformers.

Within a year, these reformers founded one of the first committees in the Ottoman Empire to support the kind of schools favoured by Western Jews—those of the Alliance Israélite Universelle.”

‘London’ was being controlled by Montefiore, as the head of the Board of Deputies, and as the frontman for the Frankist network who were outwardly still ‘Jewish’, and leading the rest of the community.

It’s a post for another time, but it’s truly amazing how many times ‘recalcitrant’ Jewish communities, who stubbornly refused to ‘modernise’ and dump their orthodox Rabbis and Torah-true education and lifestyle subsequently suffered a massive fire, which totally destroyed their communities.

And who was waiting in the wings to swoop in and rebuild these communities in a ‘reformed’ mode?

I think you’re starting to figure out the answer to that question all by yourselves….

King Shlomo told us that there is nothing new under the sun.

As it was then, 150 years ago, and 350 years ago, and 2000 years ago, and 3,300 years ago, so it still is today.

Those same families and their representatives are still striving mightily to institute that same agenda today, to destroy orthodox Judaism, and replace it with a reformed, messianic cult that’s rooted totally in money, tumah and black magic kabbalah.

And so many of our modern day philanthropists, and modern day ‘leaders’ – both in the orthodox world and elsewhere, both in the rabbinate and elsewhere, both in Israel and elsewhere – are part and parcel of this network of hypocritical ‘pretend Jews’, pulling people away from Torah and God.
