Slow posting again this week, as I’m taking a few more days break from the internet and email.

But over on Ynet, they put up this interesting article, about the former gestapo Catholic woman who converted to marry the late leader of Neturei Karta, Amram Blau.

You can read it HERE.

Snippet:

“The story starts getting interesting in 1944 when she joins the Resistance.

She writes that she was part of an underground guerilla movement, without providing further details – for good reason. I found her recruitment papers and French intelligence documents recording her operations. She was recruited to spy on the Gestapo, official secret police of Nazi Germany, aiming at undermining French and Allied forces’ underground operations. She managed to win their trust and became an officer in the Gestapo. I think this is why she never talked about it.

What Jew wants to hear that Ruth the convert had actually been a Gestapo officer?”

You remember Amram Blau.

This snippet comes from HERE:

I spent a couple of hours digging around the Cheshin family tree, and I found links to all sorts of people you might have heard of.

Like, the Netanyahu-Milikovskys… and Amram Blau, founder of Neturei Karta, and his disgraced nephew, Yehuda Meshi Zahav, and further back, to people like R’ Hillel of Shklov, and all those Rivlins who are still running the country…

Israel is literally being run by the same big, extended family, on both sides of the religious / secular divide.

And they’re all busy persecuting Rabbi Eliezer Berland, and Shuvu Banim.

====

You remember Neturei Karta.

This snippet comes from HERE.

[T]he main point is that Neturei Karta revered Jonathan Eibshutz; apparently had very strong links to the Sabbateans that moved to Eretz Yisrael under Yehuda HaChassid, and went to great lengths to ‘defend’ Eybshutz’s reputation, posthumously, against academics like Gershom Scholem.

Here’s a bit more about Amram Blau, from his Wikipedia page HERE:

Blau was born in Jerusalem into the city’s Hungarian Jewish community.

His father was originally from Pressburg and had immigrated to Palestine in 1869, while his mother was a native of Jerusalem, with roots in the city dating to the late 18th century.

He grew up in the Mea Shearim neighborhood. Like his brother Rabbi Moshe Blau, who was a leader in the Agudat Israel movement, he was also active in the Aguda during the British Mandate era and was the editor of its newspaper, Kol Israel (Voice of Israel)…

Rabbi Blau broke away from the Edah Hachareidis for various controversies which he claimed proved they were going in the direction of Agudah, and founded Neturei Karta with Rabbi Aharon Katzenellenboigen, and Rabbi Yaakov Meir Shechter.

====

You remember R Yaakov Meir Shecter.

He’s the head of the Breslov faction centred in the Breslov shul of Meah Shearim, which has been spearheading all the attacks against Rav Berland and Shuvu Banim, within the orthodox community itself.

I have to say, until just now I also didn’t realise he was a co-founder of Neturei Karta with Amram Blau, uncle of the late pedophile-rapist Yehuda Meshi Zahav.

It’s a small world.

Let’s get back to how Amram Blau came to marry a formerly catholic member of the Gestapo.

This is what it says on Wikipedia:

Blau’s first wife, Hinda (née Weber), died in 1963.

Because of an injury he sustained from shrapnel during the siege of Jerusalem in 1948, the Halakha (Jewish law) did not allow him to marry a woman who had been born Jewish.

In 1965, he married Ruth Ben-David, a convert 26 years younger than he. Born Madeleine Lucette Ferraille (1920-2000) to a Catholic family in Calais, France, and educated at the Sorbonne, she had married her first husband Henri Baud in France on 5 September 1939. They had one child, Claude. They divorced on 31 July 1944.

With the founding of Israel in 1948 she became interested in Zionism. She and Claude converted to Judaism in 1950 and went to Israel. She became interested in Judaism and then in Orthodox Judaism, but eventually embraced the anti-Zionist views of Satmar and adopted the way of life of the Neturei Karta group.

She was involved in the Yossele Schumacher affair.

Ruth met Amram Blau in Israel via a shidduch. The match was opposed by Blau’s two adult sons and by the rabbinical court of the Edah HaChareidis, so the couple had to move to Bnei Brak, but a year later they returned to Mea Shearim.

Blau died in 1974. He was interred at Har HaMenuchot.

Ruth Blau continued to act as an independent wing of Neturei Karta.

Remember how so many Frankists formerly converted to Catholicism, but then kept washing in and out of the Jewish community, as it suited them?

Remember how the ‘Old Yishuv’ was basically packed full of Sabbateans, waiting for Shabtai Tzvi’s ‘second coming’ in Jerusalem?

Remember how Marvin Entelmann identified that Neturei Karta was violently ‘pro’ the Sabbatean Jonathan Eybshutz, that guy who promoted pedophilia and incest from a totally evil misunderstanding of deep kabbalistic ideals about how to bring the geula?

Remember, again, pedophile rapist Yehuda Meshi-Zahav, Amram Blau’s nephew?

Who conveniently had a ‘failed suicide’ that kept him out of court and in hospital for a year, before he then apparently died.

Where is he buried, does anyone know?

Or is he now on some Greek island laughing at us all?

Ha mavin yavin.

And that will do for today.

    Chalom Rivka, hum interesting!

Torah-Box wrote once an article about Ruth and Rabbi Amram.

    https://www.torah-box.com/femmes/femmes-celebres/ruth-blau-une-convertie-pas-comme-les-autres_13664.html

And for my opinion these two people are Tzadikim …

EVEN EVEN if it is Neturei Karta, and looks accepting the Satmar’s way (Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum was from Satmar… isn’t it, he was a great and famous Tzadik) etc… and his nephew did what he did by his own will detestable thing, and Rabbi Schechter does what he does as the Shpolei Rebbe with Rabbeinu HaQadoch.

That won’t say Rabbi Amram did wrong. Dont forget he is a Talmid Chacham hopefully leshem Shamayim. If it is so he is a real Talmid Chacham. In my understanding it looks he did for his wife and defend her. Looks like Boaz and Ruth. Wouldn’t a marry do that for his wife? I think he defends her and accept the humiliation and disgrace with love for her. And Ruth was a spy into the Gestapo, she did great things for Am Yisrael. If it is this mainly point who was core of the problem with Rabbi Avraham and the Edah, so there is nothing to talk about.

(I don’t agree with Neturei Karta and everything Satmar says )

You are making a lot of important points, thank you Nahman.

I guess that we have to continue feeling out what’s going on here, but to give both sides, both ‘opinions’ a full telling, and that’s how the truth will ultimately shake out of this whole mess.

So thank you very much for doing that, Nahman.
