How’s that for a title?
I’m half-way through the memoirs of the Rebbe Rayatz, the sixth Rebbe of Lubavitch, and it’s turning up more interesting info. In a previous post that’s now scrubbed, we learned from those memoirs how the mother of the Alter Rebbe was one ‘Rivka Shor’ (amongst many other things that have subsequently been deliberately falsified and scrubbed, in Chabad official history.)
There are probably many reasons for scrubbing ‘Rivka Shor’, but the main one is that the Shor family she belonged to were notorious Sabbatians, and then notorious Frankists.
The following excerpt comes from a book I just finished called: Women and the Messianic Heresy of Shabtai Tzvi 1666-1816, and it’s talking about the period when Jacob Frank and his Frankists were taking over the Jewish community.
[A] number of women – daughters of elite Sabbatian families – became known during those years as independent prophetesses who wielded a great deal of influence within their sectarian milieu.
They included Rosa and Merle Schotten, daughters of Arieh Leib Schotten, the Sabbatian rabbi of the Jewish community of Mattersdorf in Western Hungary; Hayah Schor, daughter of the well-known Sabbatian preacher Elisha Schor, and sister of Solomon Schor, a well-known Sabbatian from Rohatyn... and Roesel Eger, sister of Jonas (Yonah) Wehle, head of the Sabbatian fellowship in Prague at the end of the eighteenth century and first two decades of the nineteenth.
We’ll come back to Roesel Eger another time.
Her obvious links to her known Sabbatian-Frankist brother Yonah Wehle have been deliberately scrubbed over on geni, but you’ll still find her in the same family tree as Sigmund Freud, plus the usual Oppenheims, Behrends, Gompertzs, Wertheimers – i.e. all those old ‘court Jew’ families that no-one really talks about, but who have been behind the scenes in Jewish history for a very long time, as tax collectors-cum-‘Chief Rabbis’ for the poor communities they headed up.
But to understand why you’d scrub Chaya Schor, and her whole family, out of the Chabad genealogy, you only need to read this excerpt, taken from Jacob Emden’s description in Sefer Shimush, 5b, where he brings one of the accounts of a repentant Sabbatian-Frankist, given to the Beit Din in Satanow on June 11, 1756:
[Y]ou should know that I have already been in the fellowship of Shabtai Tzvi, may his name be blotted out and his lineage uprooted, for nine years. My first act of sin took place when I expressed my wish to join them and be among them. There was a woman there, a whore and a heretic, the wife of Tzvi [Hirsch], son of Rabbi Shabses.
She is the daughter of Elisha [Schor] of Rohatyn…..She took a knife and cut a piece of forbidden fat from the fat-burning candle and ate it, and she enjoined me to do the same. I took a piece of the fat as well and ate it. Then they took me among them and revealed their secrets to me.
I don’t want to get too much into details, but Chaya Schor was known for committing acts of incest with her family members, many of whom subsequently ‘converted out’ to Catholicism, under Jacob Frank.
This was a standard ‘Sabbatian-Frankist’ thing.
While her wing of the family seem to have been the most extreme, the extended Shor family were known to have been ‘secret’ (and not so secret…) Sabbatians going back generations, with the notorious Chayah Schor herself claiming that her grandparents and all her uncles were all Sabbatians.
If you go HERE, you’ll find the family tree for Rivka Shor, on the JewAge website, who descends from Avraham Chaim Shor. And if you go HERE, you’ll find the family tree for Chaya Shor, who descends from Ephraim Zalman Shor, author of “Tevuos Shor”, and brother of Avraham Chaim.
Ephraim’s grandson is called Alexander Sender Shor, and he also writes a book (apparently) called “Tevuos Shor”. And Alexander Sender’s son is…Elisha Shor of Rohatyn.
So, it’s a close connection.
And you can understand why someone would want to ‘scrub’ these relatives out of the family tree, even if they themselves were not Sabbatian-Frankists…
Look who else descends from Ephraim Zalman Shor:
None other than Jacob (Leibowitz Benjamin) FRANK(el).
His maternal grandfather is Yakov Shor, the brother of Elisha Shor.
Which means that his mum is the first cousin of the notorious Chaya Shor, above.
You see, it’s a very small gene pool, all these people swim in, and of course, that’s another great reason for scrubbing the Shor family tree so thoroughly.
Off the back of this headline and THIS post (below), I got inspired to to back and read the Rebbe Rayatz’s memoirs, to try to pick up more clues about what is really going on here.

Most of the names and identifying details in the Rebbe Rayatz’s memoirs are made up.
Again, it’s hard to understand why you’d do that, if you are writing ‘real history’, but the more we look into what’s going on here, the less that seems to be what is really going on.
So, I get to this whole, weird account about a ‘Nachum’, who is an agent for some (made-up name) Polish Count, who is discussing selling some of his boss’s estates to a Swedish royal called ‘Prince Johann Cambari’. Let’s first quote the story, then unpick it:
Amongst the Jews who were driven out of Spain there was a wealthy man named Joseph Gabrieli. He had two daughters whom he married to wealthy suitors.
After their exile, they wandered from one country to another and during a plague the husband of the elder daughter died. She then went to live with her sister who had just given birth to a son and who was named Judah.
A year later Judah’s father also died and this, together with the reduced circumstances in which they now found themselves, caused the early death of the child’s mother.
Just before she died, she made her sister promise that when her son Judah would grow to manhood, she would explain his Jewish origin to him and try to induce him to return to Judaism.
The aunt who had taken the child into her care had married a Swedish nobleman who told her that secretly he too was a Jew. He took his bride and Judah to his people in Sweden. They changed Judah’s name to Johann and he was brought up as a prince of royal blood, like a true Cambari.
“Two years ago my husband died/’ concluded Prince Johann’s aunt, “and I then revealed to Johann that he was Judah, the grandson of Joseph Gabrieli, who was my father as well as his mother’s. He has seen his grandfather’s photograph and knows we are Jews.”
“Yes, we have both decided we would like to return to the faith we belong to, but you can understand our difficulties,” broke in the Prince. “We have so much to learn and we need someone like you to befriend us and show us the way back!” concluded the Prince pleadingly.
I read this passage, and nearly fell off my chair.
I’ve had my own theories going for quite some time now, about how ‘crypto Jews’ have been running the show in the Jewish community – and elsewhere – for many, many centuries. But to read it so boldly in the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s memoirs was something else.
So of course, I tried to track down this Swedish ‘Prince Johann’ from the 16th century, and very quickly, I got to this guy:
Alternative historian Miles Mathis has had the Jagellions fingered as ‘crypto-Jews’ who took over a whole bunch of European royal families in a bunch of his research papers.
(Try THIS one, for a good introduction to what he says is going on, including how the de Medicis were really ‘crypto Jews’.)
Until I read this entry in the Rebbe Rayatz’s memoirs, I was kinda sceptical of Mathis’ claims.
Now, let’s just say I’m a lot less sceptical…. And I’m still wondering what the heck is going on here, and how Chabad seems to consistently be in the middle of all this stuff, going back for centuries and centuries.
If you look closely on the Shor extended family tree, you’ll find close links to people I wrote about previously, like Stefan Powditsky.
Here’s a snippet about him:
Stefan Powditsky, as he became, is a royal tax collector who became a xtian. His brother is Ephraim Fishel, and Ephraim Fishel’s grandson is the Shaar Ephraim – who we are told in ‘made up history’ is the grandfather of the Chacham Tzvi. Really, the Chacham Tzvi’s father is one Yacov Kopple Halevi Wallerstein.

Here’s a few snippets:
The most influential family in Kraków’s Jewish community from the 1470s to the mid-sixteenth century. Members of the Fiszel family served as creditors to King Casimir the Jagiellonian and his sons Jan Olbracht, Aleksander, and Sigismund I.
Efrayim Fiszel and his three sons, Ya‘akov, Mosheh, and Yosef, first appear in sources from Kraków in the 1460s…Raḥel, Mosheh’s wife, who had come to Kraków from Prague, began independent financial activities prior to her husband’s death, which occurred before 1489. She was creditor of the Polish kings Casimir IV the Jagiellonian, Jan Olbracht, and Aleksander.
Raḥel managed a mortgage bank.
In 1495, when 30 Jews, including Raḥel’s son-in-law Ya‘akov Pollak and her brother-in-law, were arrested in Kraków, her name appeared on the list of persons obliged to guarantee that those released from prison would not leave the city. Mosheh and Raḥel Fiszel had six children—three daughters, Ester, Hendel, and Sara; and three sons, Efrayim (Franczek), Stefan (originally Mosheh), and Yitsḥak.
Mosheh (Stefan) Fiszel served as a creditor to kings Jan Olbracht and Aleksander even before his conversion to Christianity…. After converting to Catholicism (between 1503 and 1504); Stefan was ennobled by Zygmunt the Old, receiving the Korab coat of arms. His sons Jan and Stanisław also converted to Catholicism; their godmother was Elizabeth, the widow of King Casimir the Jagiellonian. Stefan divorced his wife, who chose to remain Jewish. In 1510, with the king’s permission, he purchased the village of Powidz, from which he took his new surname, Powidzki.
Efrayim (Franczek) Fiszel, Stefan’s brother, was appointed in 1512 to the position of general collector of Jewish taxes in Little Poland…. After two years, however, he was forced to resign this position, though he continued to enjoy royal protection and remained in service to Queen Bona.
Mosheh Fiszel (1480–1541), Franczek’s son, was a physician; he married Ester, who served in the court of Queen Bona. In 1532, after the death of the kabbalist and rabbi Asher Lemel, he became rabbi of the so-called “Polish” Jewish community of Kazimierz.
In 1541 he was appointed, together with the rabbi of Lublin, Shalom Shakhnah, to be the chief rabbi of Little Poland and Rus’, a post that included the right to excommunicate and judge Jews for religious transgressions. Soon after his appointment, he was accused of converting Christians to Judaism. He was tortured and died soon after his release from prison.
I’m quoting from that piece extensively, because you’ll notice that we’ve spoken about many of these people before, including the Karaite rabbi of Lublin, Shalom Shaknah, and ‘Ephraim Fiszel’, who is meant to be the great, great grandfather of the Chacham Tzvi, via the Sha’ar Ephraim.

The ‘Sha’ar Ephraim’ is meant to descend from Rabbi Eliyahu the Baal Shem of Chelm, via Valentina, the daughter of the Maharshal.

Elijah was born to his father Aaron Judah in 1550. About 1565 he entered the yeshiva of Rabbi Solomon Luria of Lublin, and, after receiving his rabbinical ordination, became rabbi of Chełm, a position he would hold for the rest of his life. In 1564, he gathered with other prominent rabbis, including his teacher, to co-sign the halachic rulings which allowed an agunah to remarry.
His great-granddaughter married Rabbi Ephraim ha-Kohen (1616–1678), author of “Sha’ar Efrayim” and grandfather of Rabbi Tzvi Ashkenazi.
Jewish history is so full of ‘Ephraim Fishels’ – always showing up in very influential positions within the Jewish community – that’s it’s very hard to pin all the facts down. But, as the convention in these families is to name a son after a father, we know they are all connected to the same family tree.
‘Elijah Baal Shem’ has another name.
His other name is ‘Elijah Loanz’, or Elijah ben Moses Ashkenazi Loans of Worms.

[O]n his mother’s side was the grandson of Johanan Luria, and on his father’s of Josel of Rosheim. After having studied in his native city under the direction of Jacob Ginzburg and Akiba Frankfort, Loans went to Cracow, where he attended the lectures of Rabbi Menahem Mendel Avigdors. He also studied in the Yeshivah of the Maharal. While there he prepared for publication the “Darke Mosheh” of Moses Isserles….
It is said he lived 108 years. He initiated a group of hidden righteous individuals preparing the ways of the Baal Shem Tov through his student Rabbi Yoel Baal Shem Tov.
Elsewhere, the Rebbe Rayatz talks about that Yoel Baal Shem, too, and those ‘groups of mystics’ that sound oh so much like the pockets of secret Sabbatians that were operating all over Eastern Europe.

Yoel Baal Shem was an Orthodox Jewish scholar of Halacha and Kabbalah who lived in Zamość during the 17th century. He became renowned as a Baal Shem for performing miracles, commanding demons and authoring Kabalistic amulets.
Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn (1880–1950) writes in his memoirs that Yoel’s father was Yisrael Yosef, a disciple of Rabbi Mordecai Yoffe….
Rabbi Yoel Baal Shem (I) was initiated by his teacher Rabbi Elijah Baal Shem into a group of nistarim known as Machane Yisrael. He was the teacher of Rabbi Adam Baal Shem of Ropczyce who instructed Rabbi Israel Baal Shem Tov in Kabbalah.
The Baal Shem TOV came to ‘sweeten’ the demonically-possessed ‘Baal Shems’ that were characteristic of the Sabbatian movement.
That’s why he’s called the Baal Shem TOV – the good ‘Baal Shem’.
I know this is a lot to take in, so let’s try to sum up.
- Crypto-Jews – or as I prefer to think of them now, people with Jewish blood who actually don’t practise Judaism, and who have a habit of flitting in and out of the Jewish community as it suits them – appear to have been in positions of influence, both in other religions, and in many royal families for many, many centuries.
- Typically, when they move back into the Jewish community, at least externally, they become ‘court Jews’ and tax collectors, i.e. the people who act as ‘go-betweens’ between the authentic Jewish community and the rulers.
- They also seem to play a prominent part in minting coins and overseeing banking and commerce.
- They usually have a ‘dual identity’ going on throughout history, so it’s very difficult to track them down.
- They are connected to the ‘Conversos’ – i.e. the xtianised Jews of Spain and Portugal, but increasingly, I think this group of people predate the exile from Spain, too.
- They were at the forefront of the Sabbatian movement (but also predate it); and the same families were also at the forefront of the Frankist-Freemason movement, too.
- All this is definitely connected to who is really running the State of Israel, today.
- Chabad is always coming up in the middle of this story, in some very unexpected ways.
Let’s stop there for now.
There is so much more I could say about all this, but it’ll have to wait for another time.
So much of what we think we know about Jewish history is actually just made-up stories and Bubbemeises, designed to cover up the fact that the same small group of ‘interesting’ people have been running the show – and running the Jewish people into the ground – for centuries and centuries.
Let me leave you with this, that my friend C. sent in an email entitled: The Lubavitcher Rebbe and Shabak:
“In our conversation it was apparent that he had a tremendous knowledge in the area of intelligence and intelligence-gathering. And his connections were vast. He had connections with the White House and the State Department. He had connections in other places in the world with the powers that be.”
Does it sound normal to you, that a Rebbe should have such far-reaching connections with spooks and politicians?
Jacob Frank was also a descendent of the famous ‘Shaul Wahl Katznellenbogen’, AKA ‘King of Poland for a day’.

[W]hen the previous Polish monarch died, the noble electors were unable to decide on a successor within the time allotted by law. They therefore decided to crown Sha’ul until they could reach an agreement….
The legend also explains Sha’ul’s rise to greatness as follows: Lithuanian Prince Radziwiłł made a pilgrimage to the Land of Israel, returning via Italy.
Having run out of funds, he turned to the local rabbi, who loaned him a large sum of money.
Before leaving Padua, he asked the rabbi whether he had any relatives living in Poland, and the rabbi told him about his son. When Radziwiłł reached Brest-Litovsk, he sent for Sha’ul and bestowed his favor upon him.
This story too is apocryphal: while Karol Mikolaj Radziwiłł did indeed make a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in the late sixteenth century and returned via Italy, there is no evidence that he had contacts with Jews along the way.
Ah, those Radziwills...
That’s another long story.
Just to keep this information in the same place, going forward, as a lot of pieces of the puzzle are starting to fall into place.
THIS geni profile is for Margola Frankel / Halperin nee Shor. She is the sister of Ephraim Zalman Shor (G-Gdad of Elisha Shor, the Sabbatean-Frankist) and Avraham Chaim Shor, the ancestor of Rivka Shor, mother of the Alter Rebbe.
As you can see, she is married to R’ Eliezer Lippman Heilprin, who happens to be the brother of none other ‘R’ Joel Heilprin, the Baal Shem of Zamosc’.
This is the same guy we talked about above, who was commanding demons, making amulets, and organising groups of mystical ‘true believers’ all over Podolia.
This all pre-dated the Chassidic Baal Shem Tov by quite some time, although they did overlap a little, and they were groups of secret Sabbatian mystics.
The Rebbe Rayatz writes in his memoirs that the father of Yoel Baal Shem is one ‘Yisrael Yosef’. From geni, which probably in this instance is more accurate (that’s really saying something…) we see his father is actually R’ Isaac Halperin, the ABD of Tykocin / Tiktin.
That family has also been on my list for a very long time, as being at the heart of a lot of genealogical confusion, Now, I’m starting to understand a bit more why that is.
Now, I just took a look at Margola’s profile in detail, and here’s what came up:
All the dates on geni are always deliberately corrupted for these families, but this suggests that Margola Shor is the mother of ‘Rabbi Jacob Loeb Benjamin Frankel’.
That could either be Jacob Frank himself, or his grandfather, who he was named for.
Because the dates are so skewed, it’s going to take a while to shake all this info out, but yet again, we see how these new details further corroborate what’s set out above.
One of my readers wanted to know why I’m stirring this up.
The best answer I can give is because I think that’s what God wants.
Our Jewish world is broken, even on the ‘frum’ side of the equation. We need to explore how that happened, and how to fix it. And increasingly, that answer is coming into view:
Our religion and our community got hijacked by the dark side.
It’s time to wrest it back for God.
