yeshiva world news

So backwards, it’s hard to believe.

Here’s the latest on that awful fatal ramming of a pedestrian in Meah Shearim, on Purim, brought to you by YWN – which is clearly dropping any pretense of being a ‘news’ site, or of being ‘pro-chareidi’.

First, the police released the Arab who killed a 47 year old chareidi man in cold blood, by driving his minibus straight at him, at high speed:

The Arab driver, Ibrahim Hamed, was released from police custody on Tuesday evening to house arrest and it is believed that he will not be charged for Ben-Abu’s death.

Because hey, didn’t you hear?

Jewish blood is cheap in the State of Israel, and particularly orthodox Jewish blood.

====

But if that wasn’t bad enough, the police here then did one of their infamous ‘dawn raids’, to round up 14 teenagers who tried to stop the ramming attack.

Here’s how der YWNer reports it:

In a police raid in the early hours of Thursday morning, dozens of officers raided the homes of 12 suspects who are suspected of being involved in attacking an Arab driver in Jerusalem on Purim, which led to the death of passerby Itamar Ben-Abu, z’l.

The police arrested two additional suspects on Thursday morning.

Five of the suspects are minors. Some of the suspects were also allegedly involved in other cases of violence and rioting on Purim and other occasions in recent months.

====

You got that?

An Arab deliberately drives his minibus into a crowd of Jews in Jerusalem on Purim, and instead of charging the Arab with manslaughter – or murder – they police went and rounded up a bunch of Jewish teens, including 5 kids, and charged them with trying to stop the attack from happening.

Remember what happened with Ahuvya Sandek, and understand that this is not an accident.

====

And in the meantime, here’s what really happened, from an eyewitness who emailed me their account:

So you probably heard that the Arab terrorist was released and 12 boys were arrested with the police publishing a video of the arrests.

After that happened some witnesses stepped forward who saw the same Arab driver trying to ram into pedestrians on the other side of town before even reaching Meah Shearim.

We are videotaping these witnesses and getting it over to the police in order to release the boys.

It’s becoming so much more clear that this was an intentional terror attack and thanks to these boys who attacked the terrorist many more people weren’t killed.

Let’s see if this gets publicized by the police. They will most probably quietly release the boys and sweep the whole story under the carpet leaving the terrorist at large.

Because the public is already sure that the Chareidy boys are the murderers and that the poor Arab is innocent. If they police don’t do anything, there are real videos of the witnesses, and also the real video of the Arab bashing up cars multiple times before having his door forced open and killing the pedestrian.

====

We’re not holding our breath for the police to publicise what really happened, are we?

And we’re not holding our breath for der YWNer to write the truth about what really happened in Meah Shearim on Purim.

And in the meantime, please draw your own conclusions, about the ‘truth’ that you’re getting on these websites, which are just paid propaganda arms of the anti-semitic State of Israel.

And then remember that just as they aren’t telling you the truth about what happened on Purim – even though it’s so clear cut! – they lied to you about Rav Berland, too.

====

HERE’S THE ORIGINAL POST:

One of the most ‘anti-semitic’ websites out there is the Yeshiva World News.

I know, I’ve said that before – on many occasions – when that website was running one load of baseless lies and defamation after another, about Rabbi Eliezer Berland and the Shuvu Banim community.

But maybe – just maybe – it was hard to believe that a website that prides itself on its good hashkofosss, and on serving a stellar readership of people deep in their lomdanusss could really be so poisonous, evil and downright antisemitic as I was hinting?

Well, let’s see what’s going on now, in connection with an awful story that occurred in Meah Shearim on Shushan Purim.

====

The evening of Shushan Purim, I was looking at the Israel National News website (another bad habit…) when I happened to click on a video showing ‘disturbances’ in Meah Shearim.

There was nothing warning readers that they were clicking on a snuff movie, but that’s effectively what I saw.

There was a minibus stuck in a queue of cars in Meah Shearim – as happens so very often, and always on Purim – when the driver suddenly reversed backwards, then shot forward with full gas – right into a group of chareidim that were standing between him and the car in front.

You could hear the sickening crunch as one man’s head and body were crushed in the ramming attack, while his hand was still held up in the air in the ‘stop’ position.

Of course, that poor man died of his injuries.

How could he not?

====

Anywhere else in Israel, any other (secular…) community in Israel, this would be called out for what it was:

A fatal ramming attack, by an Arab driver, against Jews.

But that’s not what happened here.

The State of Israel is very, very keen to demonise ultra-orthodox Jews, and to make them seem ‘sub-human’ any chance it can get.

This is not a new phenomenon, it’s been happening for years. But especially around the whole corona issue, the anti-semitic propaganda spewing out of the State of Israel about the ultra-orthodox has gone full-Goebbels.

====

So, propaganda sites serving the ‘orthodox’ community like the YWN and Arutz 7 started running a strange story how this poor Arab murderer was scared he was going to be lynched by a group of teenage chareidim in Meah Shearim.

I lived in that neighborhood – in one of its roughest areas –  for 4 1/2 years.

I know the people there, the kids there.

The teens will spit, heckle, burn bins, stand in the middle of the road, and the odd one or two (usually egged on by a disturbed adult who is part of that group of ‘interesting’ people who act as secret agents provacateurs for the State of Israel) will very occasionally throw stones.

Not in a million years would they try to ‘lynch’ an ‘innocent Arab’ who just happened to be driving his van through the streets.

The idea is so laughable.

I’ve faced down some of those bin-burning teens when I lived there, and my daughter used to pull me away because she was scared of what I was going to do to them.

====

So now, what happened next?

The Yeshiva World News wrote a disgusting, anti-semitic story repeating this slur against a whole community that some Arab nearly got lynched in the streets of Meah Shearim, and that’s why he just had to crush a chareidi man to death in a ramming attack.

The usual horrible commentators (who really can’t be genuine, orthodox Jews?! I mean, please God, these people really can’t be genuine orthodox Jews…) piled in with the usual horrible antisemitic comments about teens in Meah Shearim being ‘animals’ and worse than animals.

====

There’s a whole big ‘dehumanising’ the sub-human chareidim in Meah Shearim’ festival going on, on the Yeshiva World News website….

Until one of the commentators (who I happen to know personally) put the record straight in the comments section.

That Arab was driving the wrong way down streets in Meah Shearim, deliberately bashing into cars – and people thought he was a terrorist, trying to perpetrate a ramming attack.

So they surrounded his car, and someone tried to open his door to pull him out and ‘neutralise’ the threat.

At that point, the Arab floored the gas and by some miracle, only killed one person, instead of the 10 who were standing in front of him.

====

You’d think that the Yeshiva World News would run some apology to this man’s family, show some contrition, put their hands up to repeating a totally false, anti-semitic slur against a whole community.

(OK, probably no-one really would think that about the Yeshiva World News. We know what sort of low-level scum we’re talking about here.)

But even I was shocked by what happened next.

They pulled the original article, with their ‘fake’ story and the real story set out in detail in the comments section. And replaced it with this, instead:

====

It’s a whitewashing piece trying to get us to feel sorry for the ‘poor Arab’ who killed a 47 year chareidi man from Mevasseret Tzion in cold blood.

The mind boggles.

====

People, how much longer are we going to keep making excuses for the evil going on in our midst?

Rav Berland and his community were just the canaries in the coalmine, showing us what was really going on.

We didn’t want to believe it then.

We probably still don’t want to believe it now.

But at some point, we have to stop making excuses, and look this stuff squarely in the face:

Our communities have been hijacked by people who hate Jews and Judaism.

====

They have big beards, they have smicha, and they usually have great yichus.

But they aren’t really Jews, and they are out to ‘divide and conquer’ by turning us against each other.

====

Our greatest enemies right now are truly coming from within.

And you already know this, but it bears repeating a million times over:

The media is not your friend. It’s not telling you the ‘truth’ about anything (except maybe, the date).

It’s a propaganda tool being used to control and manipulate you.

And that goes double, triple, quadruple for sites serving the orthodox community, like the Yeshiva World News.

    This makes me so so sad. When I see such evil in our own communities I wonder what that means for my own soul. They say one only sees the bad of other people when there is a reflection of bad in himself, meaning I must have some of that hate in me. I feel like I love everyone so why do I see this hate so clearly? Do the tzaddikim see it too or do they just see the wonderful Jewish nation bickering like normal brothers and sisters? I want to believe the best in people, especially our own, yet it is so obvious that there are too many evil ones in disguise of our own and it is just too confusing. How does one look at all of this with a good eye and hope that Hashem sees us all as innocent babies who can’t be blamed for our misguided behavior?

      There is a firm idea about reward and punishment.

      I don’t think it’s right to say that we are all innocent babies who ‘can’t be blamed’ for the evil actions we do. If we say that, it blows the whole idea of reward and punishment out the water.

      We have to acknowledge evil BEHAVIOR, evil ACTIONS, evil MIDDOT and work on them.

      The judging favorably part is that we don’t then say the person is irredeemably evil. There is still some good mixed in there, that if it could be brought out somehow would incinerate the bad and tip the person ‘into the scale of merit’.

      But as soon as we start saying that we’re all innocent babies who aren’t really responsible for our actions…. that takes away the motivation to work on ourselves. And it’s also not true, as God will judge us on every tiny thing that we didn’t try to make teshuva about.

      It’s a complicated situation.

      Needs a lot of hitbodedut, and a lot of asking God to show us the truth.

    I hadn’t seen this ‘story’ I’m glad to say, but the whole thing is mind boggling. So the Arab is more ‘righteous’ than this poor Jewish man, what is the (Jewish) world coming to?

    That’s a good reminder to rely on my paper calendar and not the date posted on the news websites!
